What's your point...?

Is having a market outside of the USA... "cheating"?

No...but having 200,000,000 chinese players playing doesnt mean the game is worth a damn here.

Look at the two different television shows, movies, arcades...etc. Its two different markets.

Just cause a game is huge in asia doesnt mean much here. Thats what the other poster was implying

I know what the poster was implying, but his/her point is moot. If a game is popular, it's popular and if it's successful, then it's successful. It doesn't matter to me what nationality a said game is more popular with. Why should it?

ahh, most of us only care about what people in our demographic like.

For instance, Gay sex is hugely popular among gays... but thats meaningless to me as a hetero. Same thing about Asians... they love their ramen... makes me sick to my stomach after a few bites.

To each his own.

That's interesting. Ultimately, I only care about what I like, and if I don't fit into the demographic of the audience for the said videogame, dish, song, et cetera, that I do like, then so be it. Moreover, I would never completely dismiss, or downplay the successfulness, or the idea of purchasing a videogame simply because its core audience is of a different nationality than mine; that's just silly. The only good reason I can think of for why I would not buy a game that's played primarily by non-Americans is the communication issues that might arise.

This game would be more popular in the western market in my opinion if the dev team handling L2 in NA was able to change it to cater to the western audience.

L1 was westernized I believe by the team in NA and was popular as a result.  It is a shame that there is very little advertising, support, and freedom for  L2 in NA, SA, and European markets.
