I have been playing Lineage 2 for years. Been playing casual lately but I am about to come back full time.  Just wondering if anybody on this site plays this game.

I just came back.

I chose to start on the EU server though. I don't regret it either. Great community. Not like the bot infested US servers, unless you're into that kind of thing.

Dex just opened a new server and toxic has one on the way. If you like private affairs. Either way, if you feel like starting new, msg me. I'm always looking for new ppl to play with. :)

I understand. If I had a level 97 I wouldn't want to start over either. The most I played was from prelude- c2. Off and on since then. Highest level was 87 Yul and I really didn't like the class merges, thats why I quit again.

Hopefully they continue in the direction they are going with the class diversification. Even though 2 unique skills doesn't make a new class in my opinion. I'm really enjoying myself on the EU server so I figure this is my last chance at playing L2 before it's gone for good.

The clan I'm in is recruiting, so if anyone reads this and is new to the game or starting over on EU server, hit me up.

I dont play anymore.

I liked the game back in early chronicles. Have played it for several years back then.

However, now the game is different and I do not really like it anymore.

Currently playing: L2 Chronicle 4

played it for over 4 1/2 years.

I'd be playing it now but for some reason I get the worst latency. It's unplayable for me. I do recall having a little bit of this "back in the day" but I literally can't play it at the moment. I've heard others have this issue but surely not all.

Goddess Of Destruction was the worst thing that happened to Lineage 2 so I totally understand. The developers also know this and each update they are going to try to bring back the old game. They did a poll on Korean Lineage 2 and 73% voted to bring back more of the old lineage 2.

What I don't understand is why they wont just revamp all the hunting areas. Lineage 2 has a huge open seemless world that not even being used. When somebody makes a new toon they pretty much go through about 5 areas all the way to 85. All those other areas are not even being used. They should revamp those areas so people 85+ can have a reason to travel the world again. We would have a lot of choices on xp like it use to be. That would be amazing if they did that.

I read over at Lineage 2 Media that the next update is focusing on reworking hellbound and also some other areas for high level players. I hope this is true because I completely agree with you. The low level areas aren't being used anymore, which made my early levels boring and went by way too fast.

The new updates are really starting to grow on me. Something I never thought would happen being an old player I naturally miss the early days. This game has aged really well. I highly encourage anyone to start playing it or pick it up again. Having a blast =)

Oddly enough, soulshots are what turned me off to the game.  Consumable driven game play bothers me.

Played on Hindemith back in the early naughties - Like others have said, the game was completely different then. Much like many other MMOs have changed over the years. I have fond memories of L2 though, I think the allure for me was how difficult the game was back then. I remember looking at level 60s and thinking I'd never get there. And those epic Boss battles. Good times.

the last time i played (around 2-3 years ago or more) the grind was unbearable. THe most grind ive ever seen in an mmo. But that wasnt the main reason why stopped playing, it was the horrible and clunky controls.

Clunky controls on top of the neverending grind without purpose just murdered any possibility of me playing this again.

My endgame begins with character creation and ends with a new mmorpg

Chose to play BD.

Rojo:  The grind is part of why I love the game. It always gives me a reason to play. To go out with my buddies and kill some monsters, or go raid.

So you going ISS Enchanter. Pretty good class if you like support.

As for grinding I feel that the reason the social aspect has been lost in mmos is purely because of quest based progression. 99% of the time you are alone doing fed ex go fetch go kill quest only grouping up with randoms for the instance dungeon run every 5 or 10 levels. The need for people to come together to progress is the #1 thing missing in mmos today.

Lineage 2 .. my first big love. This game is the reason why I can't stand slow combat in MMOs.

Came back twice, since GoD , made it to level 89, and quit again. But man! Where is the old game? Right now you only grind, where what I loved the most, was taken away ( crafting , spoiling ) . I remember staying nights at spoiling, just to get that receipe, or get the necessary mats, to craft that Angel Slayer for my elf dagger.

Anyway, the "new" craft is 10% from how it was back in the days. This was the main reason why I quit again, and I will not come back, until they REALLY bring back at-least 50% from the old game.

L2 was so good, but ruined by a director who, was fired at least , around Tauti I heard.
