Come play on Innova EU, server Aria, we need more people! It's not bot free but way less of a problem than on NC servers. The GMs even have these "bot-hunting" contest events where they hand out prizes to the ones who report the most bots in a week... Also we are limited to 2 accounts per PC here so when the server load is High, it means there's actually lots of real people playing, not just 50 dudes botting their 20 toon trains. Give it a shot, Americans. If you love the game like me but have had enough of over crowded bot ridden servers with GMs who don't give a shit, you might actually enjoy it here. |

1. I agree with the problems that NC Soft created with Lineage 2, I know Lineage 2 has been around many years and was an old game that to some got boring, grindfestm any quit, however before it went Free 2 Play NCSoft should have added the following. 1. Secondary Password, which they did not do, as a result my accoutn was hacked when the game went F2P, I did not use the same password on private servers, I did not have a keylogger on my pc, and why would my account have been there with Hundreds of millions of gear on it for years same password never stolen until it went F2P. 2. Auction House, This is another thing they should have added to the game to get rid of all the people sitting around. 3. A Way to report Bots, well there is a way, but they do not take action fast enough, and besides a lot of the bots I encoutner are watched by a real person. 4. Lack OF Customer Service, When my account got ripped off NC Soft refused to comment if someone actually logged into my account and did this, or if it was them, the most they would do is give me a set of gear which was for a healer not a mage, and then told me go earn it back again yep thats right my account was over 5 years old, and they did this. 5. There is no excuse to why NC Soft did this period, these features should have been fixed in the game, and they obviously made serious wrong decisions when making the game F2P not only these listed above but other things like everyone starting in the same area, the lag and all this other stuff. 6. I Hope TERA is released on time, I will more than likely go to it and forget about NCsoft and really I don't care for playing a monthly subscription for Line Age 3 if they are not going to do anything to protect my account from bots who steal your stuff and sell it to others. After all I thought that NCsoft was banning players accounts for RMT, Real Money Trade, and illegally obtaining items for Real Money, but i guess they don't care generally I dont care, however I care when it is done illegally and somethign should be done to prevent and deal with illegal transactions which come from hacked accounts they should be investergated, and items returned. |

Innova is refreshing . At least they are trying to keep bots at a minimum. I have been there for 2 days and enjoy it alot. No Path to Awakening and no mentors yet. It is like playing in the old days of L2. So far, it has been fun and not a mess like NA servers. |

Dunno what ppl ever complained about shoulshot lag... I only experienced it once after L2 went F2P.
NOT TRUE! Read the original description of these items. All items in the cash shop had the standard 'CAN NOT BE SOLD OR DESTROYED, CAN BE TRANSFERRED WITH DIMENSIONAL MERCHANT" in their description. This was obviously a BUG and a lot of players exploited it by using it for RMT. I'm glad it's finally fixed and can't care less about those lvl 1 afk-shops that are stuck with 100s of soulshot packs (and other cash shop items) that they can't use.
Aside from the whole botting thing, things are not worse. You're just mad you can't exploit cash shop anymore for RMT and I don't think MMORPG.com will do anything with this bogux post of yours.
See above... EXPLOITING BUGS IS FOR YOUR OWN RISK and I'm more than happy that NC actually TOOK ACTION here!

Originally posted by rav3n2 The cold war is long gone, bro. Get over it. Just about everything in your statement is wrong. There are no russians on Innova EU, they have their own Innova servers, running successfully for years. Innova pay2win? Aren't all F2P games inherently pay2win? Why is Innova more pay2win than NCwest? I don't see it. People skipping grades? I have no idea what you're talking about. Buying boxes? If you're referring to multi boxing, yeah that's a payed service and it's limited to 2 accounts per PC. End result = more real players controlling their toons. How is that a bad thing? Frost rootkit. Ok that one's a little dodgy but my credit card hasn't been high jacked yet nor my accounts hacked so I can't say I have any complaints about it at this point. |

Welcome to 2006:
Copied and pasted from: http://www.l2guru.com/forum/showthread.php?t=33758
This post is largely founded on this one:
http://www.l2guru.com/forum/showthread.php?t=33170 It has the same purpose but with an entirely different appoach. Now that we've more than shown that NCSoft NA would rather delete and lock our posts and ban or otherwise ignore our requests for action (or even discussion), it's up to us now as a playerbase to take this to the media. If we can't get their attention as players in the expected, normal way, the media and NCSoft Korea will when stakeholders come knocking on their door. The goal of this thread in specific is to keep track of what media outlets have been contacted and which ones still remain uncontacted. Please take ownership of one of these magazines/websites and take some initiative in contacting them, and let us know you've done so. You'll need to do more than copy/paste the letter we've been using. You'll need to explain the current situation and why we're going straight to the media. If you wish to remain anonymous send me a PM and I will indicate an anonymous person has contacted a specific agency for the sake of keeping track of things. Media outlets contacted: PCGamer - Healmeplenty PCGamer - Ernesto PCGamer - Numarie PCGamer - Arandir MMORPG.com - Mgz PennyArcade - Valith IGN - Valith Electronic Gaming Monthly - lxmoo Computer Gaming World - lxmoo PC Magazine - lxmoo Dutch magazines - Anonymous member German magazines - Gandi 5 Italian magazines - Yumah GameInformer magazine - madcow305 Yahoo/economic groups - Tansthantalis The Economist - Gemma Fileplanet - Xanchra Gamespy - Xanchra Hardocp.com - Xanchra L2Stratics - Narsilia www.gamer.nl - Anonymous Gamereactor.dk - Psy wikipedia.com - Temptat1on vgcats - Dulze 8bit theatre - Dulze www.ctrlaltdel-online.com - Dulze Warcry - Tansthantalis Power Unlimited - Anonymous www.pvponline.com - Dirte www.penny-arcade.com - Dirte Lineage 2 - Dragones Negros - Dragones Negros gamespot.com - Anonymous PCmaster - Anonymous Computer Games Magazine - Anonymous Official Forums - LOOOOL Blizzard - Anonymous Suggested media outlets not yet contacted: Investor corporations (see page 11 of this thread), this is huge. GamePro Webcomics - little gamers, www.bluesnews.com New York Times or economic-related magazines - A good presenter could do this with an emphasis on virtual assets and company banning of those against. This could be mega-huge. The more everyone contributes to this, the less its 1-2 people that look really pissed off, its the entire community helping and that says something. And as Kholdstare said make it clear what the problem is, don't just zerg the media saying "ZOMGLOL WE ARE OVERRUN BY FARMERS WTF AAAAAAA"; clearly explain that this huge botter/farmer and virtual asset problem exist, and explain that legitimate concerned players are being censored and banned for discussion on the issue. Mentioning the executive director for one of their games (Richard or Robert Garriet) supporting the virtual assets market would help too.
Quote:
Also, aside from direct media attention, "underground" methods can also be used to bolster support against botting and farmers. Do the following:
Alright, below is what I was able to do up real quick. This is a big issue that pages and pages could be written about so I tried to keep it relatively short.
I also didn't want to put too much effort into it considering that once we all start posting they will simply just start dealing and wont care too much about the content. If you guys see something major missing from it though post it and i'll revise as needed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To: NCSoft NA A forward to the Lineage players: Whether or not you feel you are affected by bots, you are. Botting and third party programs are detrimental to the Lineage community. Raid boss farmers and botters affect hunting locations, the in-game economy, and overall game content. The problem is so bad that on a daily basis honest people are leaving the game because they have had enough and do not know what to do about it. What is there to do about this major problem though? NCSoft wants us to deal with this issue in game; they picture a virtual world where the inhabitants are able to solve in-game problems on their own. This is all good on paper but utterly falls apart when looked at realistically. The fact of the matter is these bots are able to go about their farming 24 hours a day with the aid of either autonomous software or simply a few people that plays the toon in shifts. Killing these botters and farmers does nothing, as the experience grind and time loss from not hunting tends to not impact their ability to continue farming for profit. Report these farmers/botters? Everyone knows at this point this accomplishes nothing. When a farmer/botter is reported consistently for a month, and 6 months down the road that same farmer group is in the same spot farming it shows that NCSoft obviously does not care about their legitimate customers nor have the ability to enforce their own rules. If NCSoft can not maintain control of their own game environment which they have ultimate power over, how do they expect their customers to do so and have fun playing the game they love in the process? The raid boss farmers especially kill the enjoyment of this game and ruin one of the major selling points the game has to offer. Raid bosses give clans and alliances an opportunity to get together and defeat something as a collective while having fun. It also enables these same clans and alliances to outfit their loyal and hardworking members in effective gear to handle the other challenges this game has to offer such as the XP grind, PVP, and castle sieges. This aspect of the game is all but gone now, especially on the Bartz server, where the opportunities to raid are now few and far apart. These opportunities are non-existent because raid boss farmers have the schedule down to the letter of when each raid boss spawns. Even the most organized clans on the server have a hard time competing because we are not able to stay up 24hrs a day 7 days a week to camp raid boss spawns. The game for these raid boss farmers is their job! They can work on 8 hour shift rotations and only do raid bosses because they profit from it through real life currency, which as its written all over your companies EULA, is against the rules. All these issues are well known though so there is almost no point in continuing. This letter is just to inform the people at NCSoft that there are people who care enough about this issue to take things a bit further. We have tried to PK the bots off to no avail, we have tried to report them repeatedly to no avail, we have tried to outrun them to raid bosses to no avail. It is time for you NCSoft to step up and do the professional thing and deal with this situation. Do what everyone knows you are capable of doing. Yes, I might be difficult to catch every farmer/bot group running around but when know groups are continually farming raid bosses and are around 6 months later after being continually petitioned, it shows a serious lack of dedication to solving the problem on your part. As a player base we have done a lot to solve the problem but most have us have now come to the realization that this is out of our hands. Some people are going so far as to try and organize a full month’s worth boycott of L2 to show just how drastic this issue is. Its time NCSoft as a company, begins following time tested best business practices and look out for their true and loyal customers. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~ Signature Played Ragnarok online (3 years), WoW (6 months off and on), Priston Tales (a month), Lineage 2 (6 years),every mmorpg on the game list for 1-3 months, every single player rpg from nintendo up to playstation. |

You know what? Go Red. that's what we used to do. And they weren't bots at the time, they were actual players/farmers. This is a pvp game and if someone is in a spot that you are in then go red. If you dont' think you can take them then get some players or your clan and "go red".

Instead you can spend 500,000 fame points to take off 1 pk, which takes about 2 years to get 500,000 fame. This is why nobody goes red anymore and people that do end up just deleting their toons.
There was this all red clan that I haven't seen after a week. I guess they went up to 31 pk's.
