Game: Lord of the Rings Online
I gotta say, a well done Rohan could be the one thing that brings me back to this title, at least for a while. This, however, is a bit underwhelming. I have to agree with the first couple posts, they seem rather....bored....with their day job.
WOW .. these people are the Best that is left holding the flame for this Title in this company ?
When you have to DRAG people out of their Cubicles and plop them in front of a camera to tell the world about a New addition to your game .. I mean Really.
The one guy could not even sit still while he talked .. it was like he got up to go to the bathroom and they Nabbed him and made him talk about the game.
Just because they were given a script and were either obviously reading or racking their brain for the talk track doesn't mean they don't like the product... still if I were Turbine I'd have never released it like this.
This game is 4 years in and were just now seeing isengard? They also lied about the pvp map as well 2 times now they pulled the same thing in mines of moria with a pvp map as well and never delivered. They claim f2p tripled thier revenue 400% yet they invest very litte into the game. The store is more of the game now. Dont wanto grind buy our traits!! dont want to raid buy your weapon scrolls here. Sapience claims the turbine store doesnt offer advantage but everyones buying the store morale pots like hotcakes so they have an "advantage" in pvmp when they use ther non store pots lol.
One has to ask themselves is lotro better now then it was 4 years ago?
ROI is going to be crap ill be honest i know lot people in lotro and at one point was considering buying this but ive heard from a lot of different people in roi beta and even more know since nda this is a miserable pos lot have cancelled thier pre orders. If you like lotro play lotro but 4 years in and we still have 4 year old bugs.
Whats the big selling point of roi? a dragon? and the rest of the set pieces is skirmish's ive done 1000 times before lolz.
Btw was gap of rohan is ost dunland and evendim meshed together theyve done this in mirkwood and the other "new" areas they claim to be new. The dunlan people are even the same from evendim and the other areas rehash much?
EA should have gotten this game turbine is clueless
For all the complaints about LOTRO here, I challenge you to name a game that looks better, is more immersive and has consistent content. There isnt a game out, right now, that is better done. Rift is a mix of all MMO ideas out there, wow is oldhat and those are the only two, that I can think of, that can even hold up in popularity and numbers.
If you dont like Lotro , dont play it, but don't make it out to be such a bad title when the others do not compare. PVP is an afterthough in the game, I wont get into how much fail that is.
To elaborate on what chutz was stating, for a F2P game, LOTRO is far from crap. It has more to offer then most P2P games out or about to be released. Graphics are still decent and content and story are at an all time high. As for PvMP, well, Turbine never claimed it to be a main focus when they made the game.
It was more than they were expecting it seems because its a merciless, bone crushing lagg-fest right now in Isengard maps.
I'm what you might call a Veteran noob there as i only played for 3 or 4 months back in '07 long enough to get a Captain to 50 then fading away, returning a month ago. Bringing that up because I very much like the idea of background, cinematic battles. I dont see them being able to pull it off though. Not based on the lagg I am seeing right now.
Their excitement for this presentation is ummm,....underwhelming.
Fri Sep 09 2011 12:35PM Reportthe developers on this title seem like they have no will...:(

Fri Sep 09 2011 1:47PM ReportAs the three above posters commented, I noticed the same.
As an x-LOTRO player it makes perfect sense to me.
I'll keep from making negative comments and the like and simply say their attitudes exhibited here are very apt for their product.
WTB that old LOTRO with so much potential that I used to love

Sat Sep 10 2011 4:06AM ReportYeh, they need to fire someone in PR. This is worse then bad, this makes people think the game is going to be boring as shit.
Sat Sep 10 2011 8:49AM ReportOf course they're bored. They're all waiting for GW2.
Sat Sep 10 2011 4:13PM ReportLol, if they were excited you'd all say they were trying to overhype it and it's marketing shit.
