  • Dev Team Responds to Weekend Outage

    Turbine and the Lord of the Rings Online team have posted a response to a universal outage of all forums and LOTRO. According to the post, both the main and backup systems went down. At this time, Turbine is working with the systems operator to ensure it doesn't happen again. In addition, there are plans in the works for the upcoming weekend to help smooth customers' ruffled feathers.

  • A Mystery In Oatbarton

    Lord of the Rings Online heroes may want to swing by the official site to check out a new letter that has surfaced from Oatbarton resident, Bungo Grubb. In his letter, the diminutive farmer expresses his dismay at a recent wilting of his award winning pipe weed crop for unexplained and mysterious reasons.

  • Design A Horse Contest Announced

    Turbine devs have announced the 'Design-A-Horse Contest' for artsy players. Devs have provided a template for players to use and the winning entry will be included in the game after a future update. Additionally, a game code for the horse will be given to booth visitors at next year's PAX East convention.

    Lord of the Rings Online developers have announced the commencement of the 2010 Yule Festival Fashion Contest where players have the opportunity to win great prizes including 1,000 Turbine Points and custom forum titles. The contest runs from now through January 10th and requires players to put on their best costumes, take and submit a screenshot on the LOTRO forums.

  • December Producer's Letter

    The latest edition of the Lord of the Rings Online Producer's Letter has arrived on the official site. This month, Kate "Nereid" Paiz discusses a few of the reasons behind the changes implemented in the November update. In addition, Paiz reveals that Radiance armor will no longer be required for instances and will be removed from the game entirely with the January update.

  • November Update Goes Live

    Turbine and the Lord of the Rings Online developers have announced that the November update is now live. Among other things, free players can now play the game all the way through Mirkwood on their way to level 65. There is also a new Yuletide celebration on hand that will go live in early December.

  • Rise of Isengard Announced

    Turbine and Lord of the Rings Online devs have announced the next digital expansion currently in development. Called "Rise of Isengard", the new expansion will arrive in the fall of 2011. Rise of Isengard will feature a level cap increase, enhanced Monster Play, a new zone that includes the Tower of Orthanac.
