Categories for the pumpkins include the entire stable of Turbine games including Lord of the Rings Online, Asheron's Call and Dungeons & Dragons Online. Winners will receive game-specific rewards including free game time and more.

The program is designed to recruit volunteers to help the development team track bugs and give feedback for new features and fixes. There is a binding NDA that must be adhered to and the program is open to current US subscribers only. If you've got what it takes, head over to the official forums for more information.

Turbine's Aaron Campbell took Angie through the game and discussed some of the finer points like "Does free to play actually mean free to play?" Along with turning the game F2P, new content is being added and devs have finally revealed the name: Volume III, Book 2: The Ride of the Grey Company. There's so much coming in the way of bug fixes, skill balances, skirmish updates and more that you'll just have to read the full notes for yourself.

The trailer shows off much of Middle Earth with a great voice over guaranteed to stir the hearts of MMORPG players everywhere. The trailer encourages players to 'create their own legend' in the game when it goes free to play on September 10th.

Turbine has announced, however, that current/former subscribers and beta testers have the opportunity to get a head start on the new features and content on September 8th and 9th. Players will be able to access the four new servers to reserve their character names if desired.

Reported on Aug 29, 2010In the latest Lord of the Rings Online developer diary, Elliot Gillman takes a look at the Wardrobe System. With the new system in place, players can separate their clothing type items into a virtual closet of sorts. Players start with 10 slots but can store up to 50 items in the wardrobe if space is purchased. These items are stored in appearance only, sans stats, and can then be worn cosmetically if the player has sold or deleted the original. Think of the items in storage as doppelgangers.
