Turbine and Lord of the Rings Online developers have announced that the Lone Lands is now open to all player taking advantage of the free-to-play option. The Lone Lands had, until now, been a premium zone for purchase in the Turbine store.

Residing just south-east of Bree-town and Staddle, the area known as the Lone-lands is home to several iconic locations including the Forsaken Inn and Weathertop – the very place Strider and his band of Hobbit friends thwarted a nearly-deadly Nazgûl attack. It also offers more than 100 exciting quests to complete and 20 Deeds to earn for all players between levels 20+. For too long the denizens of the Lone-lands have dealt with vicious wildlife and nasty, cruel goblins. Fortunately, now is the time that all LOTRO players can embark on a heroic journey to save the Lone-lands and follow the Fellowship into even darker and more foreboding corners of Middle-earth!
