Dev Diary: Legendary Item Changes
Legendary Items, which were introduced to the game with the Mines of Moria expansion have been a hot topic for the Lord of the Rings Online community ever since, and the developers at Turbine have responded to player feedback in this latest developer diary posted on the game's official website. The dev diary details a number of major improvements coming to the Legendary Item system, which will make their debut when the new digital expansion "Siege of Mirkwood" launches this December.

Siege of Mirkwood Release Date Announced
Siege of Mirkwood the recently announced digital expansion to The Lord of the Rings Online, now has a release date according to an announcement put out by Turbine today. Siege of Mirkwood will go live on December 1st, 2009. Also announced today is a new LOTRO Adventurer's Pack that will launch simultaneously with the Siege of Mirkwood digital expansion.

New Expansion: "Siege of Mirkwood"
A new digital expansion for The Lord of The Rings Online has been announced today. The new expansion, entitled "Siege of Mirkwood", will bring the culmination of the epic storyline that began with the Mines of Moria, or more specifically bring the game to Book II Chapter 9, and will include the Epilogue as well. In addition to the story content, the expansion will bring a level cap bump to 65, introduce a new 12 man raid, and a smattering of three to six man instances.

Going East this September
CDC Games has just completed their closed beta test of The Lord of the Rings Online in China, From here, plans are for an Open Beta in early September, with an expected full launch by the end of that month.

Welcome Back Week

Accounts have been re-activated as part of a Welcome Back promotion for the launch of LOTRO's latest update, Book 8: Scourge of Khazad-dûm.
