Eventually, the mmorpg with the developer closest to the customer will be the best mmorpg. |
i havent even played lotro yet but i am wondering if lotro could have (probably optional) pvp implemented into the pve lore! keep your mind open please, and dont go into detailed problems without having thought about them :P.
for example: - pvp quests where you need to defeat certain enemies, or avoid them. those will be players. The whole LOTR thing is one chasing and fleeing story! - when grinding monsters for quests sometimes they can turn into players! being this player requires a certain reward of course. you know, this actually might be a very good idea because many players get bored after reaching level cap. and having done all the dungeons. they can now go back to earlier areas and mess around with some players :D. of course this needs protection to prevent abuse. like they need to make it random so you dont know who your opponent is. and then you need to give players incentive to play natural and not go for the grind. for example you can rate an opposing player if you are "pvp questing", or you can give extra rewards when killing with different skills every time, or if you win 90+% you get an automatic negative rating...etc etc.
this kind of pvp would have to be steered into the right direction, but if it works its revolutionary for pvp as well pve. and i think it would fit the lore because in the book characters were dealing with other characters..and not with some computer bots =)
