I've been following the upcoming digital expansion by reading on it and also watching some videos on it.  I can not remember where I saw/read this, but if I remember correctly one of the developers said that they made improvement to the responsiveness of attacks.

I was wondering if anyone knows the extent of the improvement to attack responsiveness and also if they plan on improving animations with the upcoming expansion?

I just ordered the adventurer's pack (not sure if they value is actually worth it in the end , but what the heck :P ), since I'm  looking forward to get back into lotro. I would like to get at least one character to max level, since  I only have a lv 28 champion now XD

I wish to have no connection with any ship that does not sail fast for I intend to go in harm's way.

I just back into lotro.  For some reason it keeps bringing me back.  I think what they meant about attack responsivness I would have to say they may have improved on the time between hitting one of your hotkeys and your character actually doing the skill.  My highest level character is a 29 warden on brandywine and some of his gambit abilities heal him as well as doo damage but the problem lies in making sure I get those gambits off in time.  There have been times when I'm going against 3-4 mobs and I died because of the time between hitting the gambit key and him actually doing the gambit to get the bonuses.

Not sure about animations, yet.  I'm going to assume they aren't really improving on the animations all that much.  Not sure about the adventure pack either.  I just resubbed and did the 3 months for 29.99 and got Siege of Mirkwood for free.  Debating on the adventure pack though.  If you get the items on all your characters I think that would make it worth it.

I wrote a couple of times to the Devs that the only thing to me that needs an upgrade are the character animations. Everything else is perfect. Regardless, I recognize that upgrading all of the NPC animations is no easy task, but I can wish..right? They are not horrible, just antiquated and balanced by the fact that the graphics, world, and sound are superb.

As far as the responsiveness, I find no issues here. Though only time my level 54 hunter sees a delay is when using my swiftbow initially after using some other form of arrow attack, but that is probably because there is suppossed to be a delay. I do wish it was just a bit faster, but its on par with most other MMOs I have played.

I also bought the pack just two days ago. I think the speed cloak was a total waste with the 5 armor rating and the fact that the buff doesnt kick in right away, but the goat and the shared space between characters was just enough to get me to do it lol.

All in all I'm pretty much in addiction mode with the game for now and lovin the Mines of Moria. A couple of the solo instance quests so far were quite difficult and fun :-) I still enjoying grouping with 1 or 2 others the best :-0

occasionally I will hit up a health potion when I think I have a smidgen of heath left or a healing spell and still die, dunno if this is lag or what they are terming responsiveness.

As far as the combat I love LoTROs combat simply because it is complex and you can't macro your five best spells onto one key like some games . I am leveling a hunter right now and have found that in combating ranged attack foes I need to use one set tactics and skills with my bow attacks while for up close and personal foes I am better off by varying it a bit.

Same with my Minnie and my Lore Master. If you want kiddie hit a button and sit back and watch combat LoTRO is not really your game.

I miss DAoC

do not know the answere to your question, however, if it's been a while since you've played, I think you'll find the responsiveness, is already very good. I cant imagin it actually being listed as a problem. Tho during open beta and for a little while after , I do remember thinking that.

As far as Animations, I assume your talking about Character Animation, and that has'nt been changed to my understanding, if it was I never noticed, well the new classes would be additions not improvements, and they look to follow the same race models, with some different gear.

I just play it, cap out, go away for a while, come back cap out.

I will say the game  gets smoother each time. Of course a while back the issues with graphics seemed to get hammered out, and that was a Major improvement, along with the lag issues back in the begining.
