Ok alittle background on my previous stint in LOTRO. I have played archer (hunter whatever, been so long I kinda forget the name) to 50. Have/had a LM to lower 40's and various others in the 30 and under range. Only reason I mention this is I obviously enjoyed myself for a while and know what the game feels like.

question 1. If I do return I will be starting fresh. The old server I was on the guild had broken up shortly after I left and most of my friends there have since moved on. I play midnights (can play at work so I dont play much if at all at home). Is there a US server that has a fairly large night time crowd and which is it? I am tired of getting on smaller servers in mmo's. I am mostly a solo player but people to chat with and group on the epic quests are needed.

Question 2. Is MOM really worth comming back for? I am researching as much as possible before I decide one way or the other but always like peoples opinions on this. Granted I will need to try out the new classes and decide on what to play as a main all over again but I know me and it wont take long to get back to 50. Is MOM what it claims to be?

Question 3. Does end game still feel grindy (rep/items ect). To me when they first added rep it felt verry grindy with little reward.  End game instances raids where no diffrent than WoW except alittle more fun imo. The only point to them though was running over and over to get that one item. This isnt a bad thing imo IF they are still as fun as they used to be?

Anything else you would like to add will be apriciated.

PS. Dont point me to WoW or WAR. Enjoyed WAR for a few weeks, already have 2 80's in WoW and didnt find the direction its going to my liking. I am mainly a PvE guy and love a storyline thus why LOTRO is back in my sights.

I think Elendilmir is known as the server that never sleeps because there are alot of oceanic players there.

Moria itself is awesome, the 2 new classes are alot of fun and feels very different from the old classes. Legendary items adds alot to the game and makes it much deeper.

There are 2 rep factions in Moria you get rep from doing quests, drops from mobs but also from doing the 6 end game instances so you will never have to grind for rep. They dont take long to maxout if you do the dungeons. End game is pretty thin at the moment with only 1 raid but a new one will come in the next content update. In Moria there is also some solo and 3-man instances that are perfect for casual players. They are short but can be challenging. Virtue grinding have become easier aswell since they are still capped at 10 but there are now more options to complete them inside Moria.

Anything else you would like to add will be apriciated.

If you like the original LotrO then I think you will enjoy Moria even more. It adds alot of depth to the game and fits vey good for both solo player and group players. (while raiders  and pvpers are left in the cold for now)

If WoW = The Beatles
and WAR = Led Zeppelin
Then LotrO = Pink Floyd

When it comes to PVP,

The Ettenmoors revamp did improve PVP a lot tho.

And most ironically. The 2 keeps in Ettenmoors are better designed then the turd of a keeps in WAR.

And when you farm barter stuff in Ettenmoors and increase your PVP rank, you can get some really nice gear and items.

Just wanted to add tthis.

Cheers

Thanks guys I am still debating but it looks more and more like I may come back. My job is fairly boring and need something to occupy the 3-5 solid hours 4 days a week I have lol. Guess I will see what other info I can find (from actual reviews and players) tonight. Suprised at the lack of video's ect of the x-pac thats not released by turbine though.

You have to ask yourself? Do you want to see everything through videos already?

Or do you like to be suprised when you enter Moria yourself?

Heh I get your point. Some video's would be handy though. Just hit youtube and look up MoM video's. MOST of them are Turbine generated. While all nice and dandy I just was hoping to find a few fraps or whatnot. Not to show me the game itself but I pay attention to things that may have changed like animations ect. Anyway I'm going to be picking it up on my way home from work. Found my old disks but figure i may as well pick up the duel pack and have much less patching to do.

I think it's because people are still caught up into Moria and busy playing it. The amount of content is huge.

Almost safe to say that they introduced more content with MoM then what it had on first launch day as whole.

Seeing that the more hardcore people just got their Radiance sets and just started raiding the watcher.

So give it time. Videos will come eventually.

I searched abit for videos and most of them seems to be from the different instances in MoM. But I think this video was pretty good showing the animations while fighting and abit what Moria looks like (the first zone atleast)

Pretty much, at least I know I don't sleep and there are always plenty of other players to do things with at any hour!
