Looks similar to what they already have in Rift. I hope lotro doesn't go the way of Rift with thousands of different in game currencies. It's a shame you can't buy mithril coins with in game gold. To be honest the in game money is starting to become less than useless. I've got well over 20 gold on my 65th level champion and apart from the odd dye I have't seen a need to spend any for months (apart from for armour repair and travel). In game currency needs more value, but I suppose the trouble is it's free...
I wonder if this means they are also taking away the one free revive? That's not good. |

I recall Gene Simmons of the rock-group KISS saying once that anything that can have a KISS logo on it, should have a KISS logo on it. It seems LotRO has adopted a policy of anything that can be monetized should be monetized. I remember glff chats with jokes like, "Increase your Ignore List capacity--only 15 Turbine Points!" :D
How not to sell me on a game: "And most people that make it past the tutorial seem to appreciate [x game's] uniqueness, even if they don't find it fun." |

Well, I see more positive things in mithril currency than negative. Current situation:lots of writs, tomes. Future situation: one token to rule 'em all, be it writ or revival. it may be just convenience: for players. I could chose if I want to revive for, say, 12 mithril coins, or to ride 12 times for 12 mithril coins. No need to have tomes of [enter text] and [enter text] writs. http://www.mmoblogg.wordpress.com |
