Okay, I've not played LoTRO since it was still with codemasters (EU), so with the recent crop disapointing me or changing at random I've looked back to the stuff I used to play, one of them is this, however despite having bought the original game and mines of moria it will count for nothing as I forgeot to transfer (I know dumb!).

So I presume I will have to start afresh, so could download the game, but were I to like it again what expansions would I need?

I'm hoping it will work the way it used to - ie buy Riders and be up to date with everything and go VIP, all in nothing more till the next expansion or is it more complex now?

Forgot to transfer?  I believe they move characters automatically when they merge servers, none of your characters should be lost.  Have you read otherwise?

When they transfered to Turbine there was a link where you could transfer, this is now closed (http://content.turbine.com/sites/transfer.lotro.com/endofmigration.html) and you're directed to the standard sign up.

is this steam sale a real good deal as in if i purchase this pack(all of the above) i can level and hopefully do a few dungeon and raid without significant restrictions? I do not intend to sub as im playing quite a number of games at the moment. Would anyone kindly advise me on this?

Triple pack is what you need as it is the expansions minuses Rohan.  It adds 2 extra characters slots for those playing for free as well as the 2 expansion classes - Warden and Runekeeper.
