Yes, and he quite literally created the Orc.

That's why I really don't like the Warcraft franchise. It's so utterly generic it's boring.

Cowards die many times before they truly perish, yet the valiant only taste death but once.

I understand that this topic has been stretched like 6 months but i thought i would post my thoughts like everyone else .

# 1 , I think  people  that say lotro copied  wow  are  indeed  lost in their own minds or should i say  "Idiots"

# 2 , I  have to believe that J.R.R Tolkien was one of the best fantasy writers due to lotr ; however saying he created  dwarves, and elves i do not know .However he did build off their nature as i will discuss .

# 3, under those circumstances i have to believe that dwarves and elves can be used freely  in every -day fantasy without saying exactly what  wow and all other medieval mmo players argue about . "wow is the greatest game everybody copies wow"  i hear that so %#@#^ much .

#4, I am not  smack talking  WOW , i have never played the game.

#5 , i believe all  Mr. Tolkien used dwarves and elves the same way as NWN, D&D ,and  all those other games .

#6 , so to sum this up , using a elf or a dwarve  in a book or movie is no problem of mine , But  say that i created my own version of a dwarve , that is not copying  the man who  created him  ,i am simply making my own ideas of a great foundation.

It's just like saying who gets the credit for  the cordless telephone the man who created the first phone or the man who figured out how to remotely access the base. (sorry for my bad example) but you see my point , you can use the dwarve and elf in anything no one is copying anyone we are simply making a game feel like home ...kinda.....

I hope everyone can see my point..That elves and dwarves are used so much and in SO many games SO old how could you say that everyone copies WOW? and that goes for any other  person who says it about his or her game , including lotro players .

Soon you will find out why there is no soon.....

Well for one Lord of The Rings elves are not like the blue alien elves of WoW. And if anything WoW got haflings from the hobbits of Lord of The Rings. J.R.R. Tolkien pretty much gave birth to modern fantasy and almost every MMO copies of off Lord of The Rings in some way.......

Well, if you think about the races you can play as in this game compared to WoW, its almost the same. I have no problem with this, I think its just really ironic that they would be so similar.

Gnome(WoW) - Hobbit(Lotr)

Night Elf(WoW) - Elf(Lotr)

Human(WoW) - Human(Lotr)

Dwarf(WoW) - Dwarf(Lotr)

I know this game will be nothing like WoW, but I wanted to just point this out.

Thanks--->

WoW you must be real young. The game is based off of the characters and races in J.R.R. Tolkein's There and back Again A.K.A. The Hobbit, and The Lord of the Rings  trilogy. Which was writen in 1932 and first print released in 1937. The Wow races and such are based of the races in the stories. WoW is just another game in a long line that uses tolkein's races.

And, when they make a MMORPG based on Lord of the Rings, do you think they would make up own races just "to not copy WoW"? Hahaha. Man...

Lolololol. Thanks for making me laugh though!
I think WOW people , especially the younger ones need to do some research and find out where WOW, Warcraft originally came from. I am amazed at the stupidity of some WOW players.

Even Warhammer Online has a deeper history than WOW. Which is amusing.

Hey, at least he put a smile on my face. As a diehard fan of all three (and yes, it's actually possible to like WoW and Warhammer AND LoTR), I was vastly amused.
