Turbine's Lord of the Rings Online is gearing up for a new expansion, Siege of Mirkwood. Today, they have provided us with these three exclusive screenshots from the upcoming addition.
Environments in LoTR's is awesome, it's the character models and animations that Turbine needs to up date. OMG the animations in this game just really are not done very well. :(

Amen to that. If our character models/animations weren't so ugly and fit the rest of the world, I'd be so happy.
Also the Mirkwood area is not "freaking huge." It's about the size of the North Downs.
And PvP is still in the Ettinmoors and receiving no love in the "xpac."
Current subscribers can get the expansion for free by using a multi-month subscriptions(which is cheaper to begin with). Also there are going to be new skirmish feature that looks interesting. Not exactly an expansion of PVmP, but it's something. Concerning that, have you been to the Ettenmoors? There's quite a lot to do there. I can appreciate wanting to have more PVmP, but I feel like there are enough multi-player challenges with the raids and fellow instances. Plus you can't lvl in PVmP so unless you want more areas for your monster, I don't see the drawback. I WOULD however like to see more areas for monster play.

When you have nothing else to complain about...... I personally like the animations, and the fact there is a unique one for every skill. Also, you may wish to look at other MMO's before commenting. Just saying, treating LOTRO animations as the worse ever is just...wrong, and petty.
As far as content of SoM, it is not just high level content, the skirmish system are scaling instances that scale to group and level of you're group.
That one area is just freeking huge.
The screenies really do look nice.
been a while since ive played lotro, like before moria came out.
but is this siege of mirkwood pvmp? or is it still.. only ettenmoors?
For now the Ettenmoors will remain the only PvMP zone. SoM raises the level cap by 5, leading to the massive dungeon you see in the pics.

mwuahaha!
so freakin awesome
Does the new expansion follow the trail from MoM, in that you can only get there by being near lvl cap and have to travel through MoM to get there?
Yes.
Just by geography, you will have to pass through the Mines of Moria and Lothlorien to get to Mirkwood.
Since it is an expansion, the content will be for those going from 60-65.
