I'm not sure about PWI crafting, but in JD its pretty basic. Granted, I havn't gotten far in JD ... i'm still trying to decide if I like the game or not .. but thats a different issue.

As far as teir 1 crafting, you can make class specific armor and weapons, the armor being distinguised by gender. You can buy all the recipies, and most of the mats from the crafting merchant. As far as the missing mats, they drop off mobs at a random rate. However there is usually a player shop nearby (or right next to the crafting merchant) that will supply you the necessary ingredients.

Once you have the mats, you open the crafting gui, and press a button. In seconds you have your object.

I'm assuming the next step is the refining/enchanting processes that will upgrade your gear with the gamble of possibly destroying it altogether.

Hope this helps.

Well, compared to the PW Crafting, it's certainly easier.

Where in PW you have Four Separate crafting prosesses, in JD you have only one.

I've not gotten very far in crafting, so I'm unsure if this is right, but as far as I know, where in PW you have Tailor, Blacksmith, Jewler and *potions maker* (I forgot what it was called >.<)  IN JD, you have only the one, which cannot craft potions or rings and necklaces (not nessesarily accurate information, because as I said, i've not gotten very far) And in addition, you've got some items you can craft to help bloodsmleting your esper, and other actions which happen at the Esper Mystic.

In my opinion, neither is better than the other, it just depends on if you wand a complicated  crafting system, or an easy crafting system.
