Battle are fine for me, i leave the action combat oriented to others mmo. Faster combat doesnt mean better, especially if that mean everyone running around and pew pew the mobs without any tactics or strategy.
Fri Dec 21 2012 9:54PM Report@Aviggin - The levequests are basically phased repeatable quests, only you can fight the mobs that spawn from your leve which is why they appear out of nowhere. Normal quests don't do that.
As for the combat it is quite slow but that's the nature of FF combat. These videos aren't the best representation anyway since party combat will ultimately revolve around skillchains and limitbreaks which haven't been shown yet. Skillchains will add a LOT of strategy to party play as everyone will need to time their skill usage with their allies to create the best combos for the enemy type they're fighting. It worked amazingly in FFXI.

Sun Dec 23 2012 12:25AM ReportLooks a bit uninteractve combat wise. it looks better, but with the whole action based trend is that enough?
Sun Dec 23 2012 8:37AM ReportCombat reminds me of Everquest 2, which is a pretty old game nowadays. But I guess the metagame is what it's all about here.
In each case, it looks 100x better than their first attempt.
Sun Dec 23 2012 1:36PM Report3 second global cooldowns seem to be a bit too long.
it wasn't as bad for the casters as their skills take a second or two to cast, but for the melee fighters, it left them with a lot of standing around.
