    In the v1.18a patch for Final Fantasy XIV, the Guildleve and Battle systems have both received significant attention.   • Firefall Festival Begins Soon

    Final Fantasy XIV fans are invited to participate in the Firefall Festival scheduled to begin on August 11th and run through August 29th. The festival includes a chain of quests sending players across Eorzea in search of Bombards. Participants will win terrific awards including swimsuits and personalized wallpapers.

    In the latest Final Fantasy XIV producer's letter, Naoki Yoshida tables the preview of v1.19 originally planned to thank players for their feedback on v1.18. Players have been quite vocal on the FFXIV forums about issues encountered with v1.18's arrival. Yoshi tells players that the feedback will help the team determine where further adjustment/balancing needs to occur.

  • Enmity Overhauled

    In the latest developer post on the Final Fantasy Lodestone with specific regard to upcoming battle changes, players are told that enmity calculation will be greatly overhauled and a new UI indicator will allow them to gauge the levels of hostility they have generated. According to the dev post, mastery of enmity is critical to success in battle.

  • Auto Attack Reform

    Final Fantasy XIV devs have put up a new article featuring a look at upcoming changes to the Auto Attack System. Among other reforms, the most compelling is the removal of the stamina system in favor of the overhauled auto attack feature. Devs have detailed how those changes will be implemented in the next patch as well as subsequent patches.

  • June Producer's Letter #2 Released

    The Final Fantasy XIV Lodestone has been updated with the June Producer's Letter with the announcement that Guildleves will no longer be central to the game. The letter goes into detail about changes to the Guildleve system as well as gives a preview of the v1.18 patch which will bring instanced dungeons and the first portion of the new battle system reform online.
