Score: 5689 on High, 1600x1200 (~6100 with OCd GPU) Score: 3912 on Maximum, 1600x1200 (~4300 with OCd GPU) i7 920 @ 2.67 12GB DDR3 1333 nvidia 460gtx SE 1GB I'd say a GPU upgrade will make it perform well on Max, as it is it looks like it will be unplayable in bigger fights/cities on Max. Turning on LOD helps alot tho. Theres simply too many polygons for my old GPU to handle. |

I am running a slight overclock on my gpu but i still didn't expect to score so well considering what others were reporting with better hardware

dont assuse when over clocking do things in steps and dont fry out your CPU small steps then test then small steps then test dont just try to match my settings there are a few things i have different then you like Memory , and MOBO ( memory has nothing to do with it but was a example)

If you want an opinion as opposed to geek like knowledge, I'd say upgrading the processor should be your first step. But again there's a lot to consider all over again (I'll explain as if you were new to computers, even though it's likely you aren't): Is your motherboard able to handle the newer processors? Does it have a PCIe x16 2.0 graphics slot? How many ram slots does it have, and what is it's max compacity for RAM (Also what speed of ram is it? DD2 or DD3? Is your motherboard able to handle DDR3 if it's DDR2)? You seem to have 64bit windows, so that should handle up to 128GB of ram by itself.
You might need to upgrade your motherboard before anything, which is essentially buying a new computer as the motherboard (or mainboard) is where everything connects, and a reinstall of Windows will likely be needed. If you want to keep your motherboard, then you'll have to do some research as to the best processor it can handle. In addition, you should check to see what kind of watts your power supply gives, so as not to buy a video card that will just turn your system off due to lack of power. All in all, if you have DDR2 RAM, I'd try to go for DDR3, then upgrade the processor and then worry about the GPU since it won't be throttled by those anymore if they're upgraded. The problem with 64Bit windows is that it's more powerful than 32bit and requires more RAM than 32 bit does. Therefore the max 32bit can handle (which is 4GB) will make it run more sluggish than if it was on a 64bit version and running the same amount of ram. DDR3 is pretty much twice as fast as DDR2, so it might not be much of a problem if you have DD3. From there we look at what GPU you want, and then decide if the CPU you have is enough to power it to 100% without bottlenecking. I'm not sure of the ratio and thus I still recommend asking on a tech forum. This is what I'd probably upgrade: Note that you have to make sure your motherboard can handle each upgrade Give it at least 8GB RAM (16 if you can spare a few extra coins to "future proof" it, as the new console generation will likely have 8GB as well and won't have to deal with all the processes of windows). Upgrade the processor if your motherboard allows. Check to see what your PSU (Power supply) watt is. Upgrade your GPU to something your processor can make full use of.
If it won't allow a better processor and you find that the GPU you want is bottlenecked by that one, then either lower the card a bit or look into getting a new motherboard. The RAM speed is also important, but the more you have the less important it becomes (thus the max capacity of the Mobo and or the type -- DDR2 or DDR3 -- will come into play).
