Does multiplayer = MMORPG now?  There has got to be a line somewhere here, and this game has to be on the other side of the line.

You do play it with other players but all the battles take place in instances rather than in an open world.

I agree with OP here, this is not MMO. There are a lot of games out there that use instance-only, and call themselves MMOs, but they are MMOs just in the lobby (towns, social areas). Beyond that, they are no more MMO than a Quake deathmatch played online.
