Eve is a game that has held on and actually gained popularity as it gets older. This means it is on to something that needs to be explored by other game companies. If they can make a game like Eve, but less tedius... I'm all for it and will play without question. I could care less where the UI came from or what art they use on minerals.

The mineral on the refining windows at the lower left is actually a re-colored drone alloy from EVE.
I don't mind this game having a similar UI and gameplay, but come on, at least do some honest work instead of stealing artwork.
In before they're gonna fix it on release crowd: Whats done is done.

All well designed interfaces in similar game genres will be similar, because they are designed with the user in mind. I t would be silly to design a non-usable interface just to be different. I don't see this as a rip-off, just good sensible design with the user in mind.
I guess the reason why they make the GUI look like EVE is because they are aiming for the same target. It is actually good practice to use an GUI your target easily understands.
haha, it's a given that GUI's in most games will share certain aspects, but this is a completely shameless EVE ripoff. They didn't even make the smallest effort to change any of the style.
Lets face it this game has a lot to it like EVE. How else do you expect them to display the information to the user? This type of GUI for now has proven to work very well.
While I can say after playing EVE for 3 years some elements of the GUI need to be changed, but it still works fine.
If you think about it Apple and MS have only really made style changes to a GUI that has been around since the early 80's.
Why does EVE looks like a Planet calypso ripoff?
