If you can't kill it, don't make it mad.

Its not a bad game at all.  I quite enjoyed it for about a year and a half.  But then I spent almost six years in EVE, so I was used to that type of game. ^^  But given that the host servers are in eastern Europe, the ping to the western US is just not good enough for this type of game.  Not to mention the internal political problems they've experienced, within the company itself.

But if you are looking for an EVE style game, but with mechs on the ground, its worth a try.

I liked the game enough to get a 3 month sub about a year ago, but  eventually the extreme lack of players drove me away. The game would be fantastic with a little more marketing, maybe some kind of free to play to bring some players in or something, but that sort of game doesn't lend itself to having a playerbase of <100 players

Yeah its sad, this game has a LOT of good about it.  I think it has potential to be a much better game than EVE, though its going to take an epic amount of work to get there.

Problem is with everyone else, game now has scary low population.  Once you realize that about 10-20 super hardcore players are controlling all their friends and corporation members accounts who have stopped playing...its a very scary amount of players in game.

Of course a game like this NEED a vibrant community, something the game has lacked through out its life.  It only had like one golden opportunity during an EVE revolt there were thousands of players on line.  Sadly at the time the game was in its infant state and not much to it, so eventually they all left.

So everyone waits for the mystery conditions that valve has placed on the game that the devs are not allowed to disclose before the game can be launched on steam.  Patches come slow and a ton of work is needed on the game to ensure every new player doesn't leave after two weeks as is the case now (aside from a few who stay)

Game needs a new engine to take it to the next level, something I don't ever see happening unless steam turns this into a 150K plus player game...ill be happy if 1000-1500 people play, as most of the games intended activities will be doable.

Right now its just the same 10 people with a follow bot train of accounts playing docking games and avoiding any pvp that could, under the right conditions, be considered anything less than a total stomp for them.  Evil side of the server is all but gone, and the good guys stay locked up on a few impenetrable gamma islands leaving new player areas ghost towns.
