I enjoy this game, and look forward to this. That said, this game does just sort of feel "shallow" to me. I wish it had more depth.

Wed Sep 28 2011 5:02PM ReportIt is very shallow. Even though there are more things in the game to keep your time spent, the over-all emerse factor is not there. This is ok I guess. The game allows for the casual gamer to come in, do some stuff for an hour or 2 and log out. Nothing to much in the line of RP, or exploring...getting lost and discovering someplace no other has found or treked apon, but then again this day and age MMOer is not looking for that anyways.
All in all good patch. It's buggy right now but a hotfix or 2 and Trion usually has things back in order.

if only we can.... ;_:
Thu Sep 29 2011 10:24AM ReportSo.
A giant golem/robot is hitting a tiny thin rocky bridge below him with a big ass sledgehammer half his size and nothing happens?
Right...
Now show us some rap music in a fantasy world, Turbine.
Thu Sep 29 2011 11:43AM Reportyeah, it is shallow, sadly.
and the combat just isn't good enough.
Fri Sep 30 2011 5:00AM Reportthats that problem with mmos these days, there's nothing else to do besides quests, instances, and PVP, wheres the RPG aspect?
There's no game that goes for complete immersion where you can fish, mine, create homes, explore, farm, complete world economy, relationships with NPC's.. I'm probably asking for too much here out of an mmo but I wish one had all these features.
The only immersive MMORPG I've ever played, was runescape tbh... It's my most fond memory of a video game, and since it was my first MMO, it was absolutey amazing for me at the time.

You guys do understand that when you say stuff like this it tells devs that the only type of game that can succeed would be based off of a major IP.
If you are looking for proof ToR is already being crowned the WoW killer for the simple fact it is Star Wars. If the game is not done right it will fail no matter how good the IP is.
I fear for mmo's when only established IP's can go main stream and be considered successful while start ups or Indie ideas are cast aside. I am not a big fan of voice acting being the only way to do this or making mmorpgs into Sims online.
It is a major issue with the mmo community that noone seems to read anymore or have any sort of imagination. Very sad where it is heading.
Sun Oct 02 2011 9:15PM ReportI'm glad I got a chance to try this out before my six month subscription ran out from launch.
There is not enough here to make me resub. The new PA system is basically another grinding mechanism that's not done as well as EQ2 (you can do AA from level 10 while you level towards max. RIFT you can't start until you're level 50)
I can tell they aren't putting any more work into aethetics; all the armors are basically the same.. bland, boring, not very exciting. Giving my six month sub Vet rewards but having my mage received plate wardrobe armor is retarded; why aren't mages given CLOTH armor as a reward instead of tank gear? Doh.
Dungeons are still easy (soloed the Chronicles with my T2/T3 gear) so that leaves two dungeons not a challenge. Did the master mode and while it's harder, it's still more of the same.. just more difficult which is boring.
This game needs an expansion and I wouldn't come back for anything less. They are just slapping bandaid type content on a game that needs a full expansion, which is sad to say after only six months after a launch.
I do not call rehashed and recycled dungeons "new content" although fanbois might.
Mon Oct 03 2011 1:56AM Reportonly thing in ashes is the 50 bucks I spent on this game.
