There really are a lot of different combination possibilities which I think will give Rift some legs long term, still I think they could have made the action look a bit more exciting...

Sure! As long as you don't mind being the bottom of the food chain, and doing less dps than... err... everyone, including clerics.
Want to be viable in Rift, roll a Mage or Cleric. Best bet would be to stick with the Pyro though... with the WH Brighwizard dev in charge of balance and all!
I mean, sab's were nerfed into oblivion as they were hitting for 3-4k hit's occasionally, but it's clearly ok for Pyro's to be hitting for double these numbers, and putting out 50% higher sustained DPS WHILST being immune to CC and taking 30% less damage.

As for Rift itself. Its ok if you like the grind fest and pointless warfront pvp like WoW.
