Rift Videos: E3 2010: "Defiant" Faction Trailer (1:26)
Trion Worlds released the E3 2010 trailer for their dimensional-rift plagued MMO Rift: Planes of Telara today. This latest trailer focuses on one of the game's two factions, the Defiant. And as their name would imply, they act in defiance of the gods, seeking to solve the Rift-born disasters of Telara by themselves, unlike the Guardian faction, who seek salvation from the gods by way of a miracle.

Mon Jun 28 2010 6:52PM ReportBased on the descriptions of both factions in this game - there doesn't really seem to be as much of a dilemma created in choosing a side as in other dual-faction games.
Usually they either make it a clear-cut choice of good and evil (such as TOR, WAR, and EQ2) or they make both sides have their shortfalls and redeeming qualities, so you could sympathize with either easily.
In RIFT, it seems like you can be Defiant and have a brain, or you can be the other faction and be irrational.
Maybe I just haven't seen enough of the lore though...
