Cool at first, but...

Nice graphics in an MMORPG, but the game is a total ripoff of wow. I played 6 months, then got bored and quit. If you've ever seen "the Guild", then that's who you'll be playing with!
Final Score

5
Poor

Pros

 Easy to find instances
 Easy to join instance groups
 Really good graphics
 Easy crafting
 Lots of rewards
Cons

 Total unabashed Wow ripoff
 Childlike adult players
No reason to hit level 50
 Boring repetitive powers
 Gets old really fast

I have an HD 5870 with 3 HD monitors, so I was looking for an MMORPG that is visually appealling.  Rift is certainly that!  Unfortunately, the developers copied world of warcraft down to the last detail and do not have a single original concept in the entire game except for Rifts.  Rifts are instances that spring up in every zone so you don't have to travel to get to one.  Also, grouping is made easy because you simply join the public group that is fighting that particular rift, so you don't have to beg and plead to be included.  I like that game, but I grew bored of it really fast.  I hit level 49 in 6 months and had no reason to keep playing.  I found that the players are mostly Wow people who wanted a change of scenery.  This game gets a 1 for creativity, and a 9 for execution, but for only holding my interest for 6 months, I'd say skip it and wait for SWTOR in December.
