Just another hypothetical question.

.. what will you do if all MMOs die tomorrow?

come here and rant all day?
move on to play some other genre (or use other forms of entertainment)?
try to kickstart an indie revival?

Tomorrow's just a future yesterday...

Pretty much what I do now, play my single player games. Minus coming here, though. Most likely, I would not delete my account on MMORPG.com, for somehow I can not seem to give up hope.

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse.

If they all just vanished I would have little, if any, remorse.

We all breathe and we all die.

I'd continue to enjoy other video games in other genres, now are we counting Destiny as a MMO and production of MMOs to die as well? If so considering up coming ones are looking to stray away from what many would call "WoW clones." that would be an issue.

Especially finally finding an mmo that suited the type of gamer I am, GW2, that would suck.

Bright side 15 dollars a month rip offs pay ment models would cease, spite looking that way so far.(Eve not including in the rip off).

I might get banned for this. - Rizel Star.

I'm not afraid to tell trolls what they [need] to hear, even if that means for me to have an forced absence afterwards.

P2P LOGIC = If it's P2P it means longevity, overall better game, and THE BEST SUPPORT EVER!!!!!(Which has been rinsed and repeated about a thousand times)

Common Sense Logic = P2P logic is no better than F2P Logic.

All of them. Because i am exactly in that position right now and for quite some time.

I have not enjoyed a MMO for quite some time for any longer than a few hours/days, with the exception of GW2 for around 20 days.

But i don't care a lot. There is RL, and a lot of multiplayer games like Company of Heroes 1&2, Battlefield, DoTA, Civilization and a few others.. and even a singleplayer game from time to time. But yes.. MMOs suck nowadays.

Played UO for around 4 years, EQ for around 10 days(and i hate it until now), DAoC for around 3 years, Shadowbane for around 1 year, WoW for around 6 month(and i hate it as much as EQ), and since that no MMO any longer than 30 days.. if at all.

And i have tried to test EvE since years multiply times.. but never ever played it any longer than a hour.. i guess my patience isn't as good. Maybe i download it once again, and get past the initial frustration.. same may be true for Age of Wushu.

^^^ This.

I'm in exactly the same boat for the moment and not minding it at all plenty of other things to do and I have a huge backlog of games bought on steam during sales lol.

I would first ponder the discontinuation of MMO's vis-a-vis current moral trends.

Second, I would erase all MMOs from my hard drive.

Third, Elder Scrolls FTW (Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim.)  That'll keep me busy until ES VI.

I've never played MMO exclusively so it wouldn't bother me so much. I would just play some other genre, like my beloved sc2!

..... not notice. There has not been an MMO released in several years worth my time (despite the endless hype and flogging every game that comes out as "the best thing ever").

I'd continue playing D3 and actually get around to the 250+ other games I have that I haven't played because all my gametime was on MMO's.

I thought this happened already, and we had a bunch of lobby games now.

Nothing would change for me since I'm not playing an MMO anymore.

Current: None
Played: WoW, CoX, SWG, LotRO, EVE, AoC, VG, CO, Ryzom, DF, WAR
Tried: Lineage2, Dofus, EQ2, CoS, FE, UO, Wurm, Wakfu
Future: The Repopulation, ArcheAge, Black Desert, EQN

There's some lovely filth down here.

The only mmo I'm playing right now is Rift, and that only really on the weekends, and even then it's just PvP and rifts.  So if all the mmos suddenly went *poof* and were gone, I'd just continue playing Skyrim and Minecraft while checking our Star Made.

I would probably spontaneously combust. MMOs are my life. The thought of not having them is insufferable.

Play some other genre call PnP.

I would start or join a D&D group and not only adventure with others but drink too!

Edit: Oh snap! Forgot about Minecraft... as long as multiplayer still worked.

Play a normal multiplayer game, they really aren't that different in the size of players involved in your play session.  Or better yet play a single player and imagine the NPCs are people...you may have to suspend belief a bit though as those NPCs will be far too well behaved and nice!

Pink, it's like red but not quite.

Go out and buy the next ARPG.

But it's a legitimate question op, what did they do today?

Precedent says we'll most likely do the same thing again tomorrow, right?

Self-pity imprisons us in the walls of our own self-absorption. The whole world shrinks down to the size of our problem, and the more we dwell on it, the smaller we are and the larger the problem seems to grow.

Atm we only play Neverwinter Online on a casual basis. Only if we have time to play together. For the rest we play other games and atm put most hours in a modded Minecraft server.

So meh, no MMO's wouldn't be a big loss to us atm.
