The "issue" with MMO development is that there are TOO MANY suits and not enough gamers making games.

So, I've started a Steam group for any'ers (god damn that is too long) to join together in playing games on Steam. Feel free to sign up (it's a public group, after all) and let's make games together! :p

Link to the group.

It'd be nice if someone had a decent logo we could use. :P I just shoved in the logo, and you can see what's happened.

I would love to join in your steam group but how? Would you mind teaching me  step by step? Sorry but I am newbie for that indeed.

do you have a steam account? if not you can create one on the website provided by the OP. And install steam. Log in, then look for the mmorpg group on the search bar (the same way you would look for a person's profile) and hit join group.

Hope that helps.

Don't like Steam, yes they often have specials on games that a lot of us can't refuse but as soon as i login FFXI for example, i then log out of Steam.

I have only posted but a few times on that Valve platform,i really don't like Valve's severe lack of support, they are always sending auto emails telling me to use the game's support, they are of no help EVER...err i mean always.

Great idea, I practically leave my Steam up 24/7 lol, Agathos is my name.

If you can name it, I've probably played it, regardless of how underground you think it is.

I am a steam newb. I have yet to really take advantage of the service, and really only made an account and used it for skyrim. I did join the group though...As for a logo.  I saw the one currently up and...Good Gawd. That I may be able to help with.

Now, this is just an example. That is a low samples -you'll notice the noise and a few artifacts due to low sampling- slight perspective (not exactly dead on a single axis) view, Render of a 3D model I tossed together (Blender v2.67).

The good thing about doing it this way (if you like), is that the model itself can be changed. As can the texture for it. The way that texture behaves, the lighting, and the camera perspective (just to name a few things in broad strokes).

With this model and the abilities of blender I can even do keyframe animation. It can bounce, hover, rotate, have glints of light streak across it's surface. So this model is much more adaptive then an image created in an IMP. I simply make what adjustments are needed, and record that. As a static image. As an animation. Even as a render that is primed to be worked on more extensively in an IMP (for instancing cob'ing and things like soft glow, or supernova effects).
