Another week, another MMORPG.com quiz! Please, contain your excitement! With our new series of articles having launched last week on the highly-anticipated upcoming release from Trion Worlds, Rifts: Planes of Telara, I am happy to give you a Trion/Telara themed quiz! Enjoy one and all.
Q: Trion Worlds had originally been presenting this game under a different title. What was it?
Heroes of Telara was the name of the game up until May 2010.
Q: We all know by now that there are two player-controlled factions, the Guardians and the Defiants. The A.I./story, of course, has factions of its own. Name them.
They are the planes of Fire, Earth, Water, Air and, the planes of Life and Death
Q: The class structure in Rifts: Planes of Telara work a bit differently than most MMOs by having a Calling, with classes chosen within it. Name the four callings, and, for bonus points, give me the the four thus far announced classes within each one. No cheating, people.
- Warrior – Champion, Reaver, Paladin, Warlord
- Cleric – Purifier, Inquisitor, Sentinel, Justicar
- Rogue – Nightblade, Ranger, Assassin, Blade Dancer
- Mage – Elementalist, Warlock, Pyromancer, Stormcaller
Q: On the official Rifts: Planes of Telara website, they've released pieces of fiction, establishing the lore and depth of story in the game. What do they call this series?
The Tales of Telara can be read at here. Bonus points if your answer was The Boar Spear, parts 1 and 2 being the only pieces released thus far, on August 31st and October 28th, respectively.
Q: Back in May of this year, upon the changing of the title of the game, Trion Worlds was forced into a lawsuit. Who launched such a lawsuit, and why?
Palladium Games, publishers of the pen-and-paper RPG Rifts, took Trion Worlds to court over supposed Trademark violation for use of the word “Rifts” in a “role-playing fantasy game of the same type that is regularly produced by Palladium under the RIFTS trademark”. In case you're wondering, I'm quoting from the actual original lawsuit complaint as filed by Palladium back in May. You can actually find copies of that information here.
Our quiz portion of the website concludes for another week. This week's quiz has been brought to you by the letter Drew, and the number Awesome. Keep it posted here every week for a new quiz with new questions and new fun!
