Pros:

- Music. The Music was actually not too bad.

Cons:

- Lag. Both latency wise and graphically. I have a Cable connection, and my system exceeds the requirements set.

- Not original. Seriously, 4Story is a ripoff of WoW and FFXI. The environments, the character models, to the surrounding area objects. You look at the tree tops, they have the similar structure to those of the trees in WoW. Look at the terrain, the stone walls, the wooden walls, everything. Not to mention the models of the male Werebeast mimic the likes of the Galka of FFXI. The Fairy mimics that of the Tarutaru, hell even the Fairy animation is a mimic of the Tarutaru. Two sided war, Horde and Alliance anyone? Another obvious point is the broken down vehicles scattered around some of the environments.

- Classes. You'll find recycled classes of the old, not always a bad thing, but it has been done one too many times before.

- Sounds. Not good, and an example is the sound of the Jump action. It sounds like someone took their hand and hit the microphone with it. Not to mention the voice acting is very very cheesy. I did not feel immersed at all.

- Controls. They use the WASD/Clicking methods, and even though they were right on including WASD, everything still felt clunky. It was as if my character had a stick up its ass, and once again immersion hits to a low standard.

- Interface. Not user-friendly at all. I had to go on a hunt to find what I was looking for, and I usually like complex UI with a lot of features, but this one was just unexceptional.

Conclusion:

Would I play it again? No. It wasn't even worth the waste of download bandwidth. If you're trying to find an alternative to WoW or FFXI, stay clear of 4Story. Go try one of the other similar grinders, or just stick with those P2P MMO. 4Story, I see it getting lost within the spectrum of the other similar grinder titles. Not worth the effort really. I really wish they would get it in their heads, that we "do not" want clones of other games. It seems Runes of Magic tried to achieve the same goal, we do not want this!

4Story will not get my vote, or my money. I feel very sorry for those who waste money on this. If you wish to see the ripoff of a MMO this is, then download it for yourself and try it out. I'm glad this was F2P, because it would have failed worse being a P2P. Mon Jun 22 2009 1:11PM
