CitiesXL Overview and Recent Content
Cities XL was a subscription multiplayer city-building sim that allowed players to work together to build cities and care for virtual inhabitants. Players could trade resources, such as electricity, plan and build structures together, host city-wide events, and step into their avatar to visit other cities. The online multiplayer was shut down in March 2010, but the game lives on in the single-player version, Cities XL 2012.
FEATURES
- Building Zones | Three types were available: residential, commercial, and industrial.
- Residential Lots | Divided into four social classes: unskilled workers, skilled workers, executives, and elites.
- Transport Options | A variety of road types were available, including bridges and tunnels, along with trains, ferries, subways, and buses.
