Sorry for the odd sound guys. Let's just say it was REALLY loud there.
Tue Apr 10 2012 8:33AM ReportThat.. does not look like a game ready to be launched in 2 months.
Tue Apr 10 2012 11:41AM Report"is that a table leg on your back"....um no that my trinket.
Tue Apr 10 2012 12:58PM ReportIts weird how all the humanoid enemies all use the same death animation. from every video I've seen of this game. AND... i'm about 90% sure that that animation is from Age of Conan.
Tue Apr 10 2012 2:25PM ReportBeing an avid aoc player, i'm very dissapointed with TSW. At its core it moves like AoC but clunkier, The no levels crap is meh. It's funcom...a grind will be in the game and you'll stive have to progress. The skill wheel seem great on paper but funcom fails to deliver on this front i think.
Not trying to hate, but this is a step down from AoC.
Tue Apr 10 2012 4:16PM Reportcomplete and utter garbage. Corridor rails, same oly animations and a skill system that will never be balanced.
Tue Apr 10 2012 4:51PM Reportreminds me of gta
Tue Apr 10 2012 5:34PM ReportThis game looks like SWTOR remake, how exicting!
Tue Apr 10 2012 6:47PM ReportThis Skills system, or wheel, is nothing more than what you get with every other MMO. Even the way he states it makes it seem the same, unlock this tier to unlock the outer tier, blah blah blah. I really hate when these companies try to make there skill tree look revolutionary, yet it boils down the same way. The only skill system I ever liked was with TCoS and I don't even know why, lol. Just seemed more normal I guess and less forced gimpage. Cheers to this game, but it looks like they did nothing more than remove AoC's art assets and place this one on top of it. Combat looks the same, animations look the same, terains look the same. I love Funcom, was a Forum Mod for them during the launch of AoC. But I can't muster up enough time to even try there games anymore. The engine is just so clunky and overdone with graphics.
Tue Apr 10 2012 8:32PM Reporthaving played it, it looks good you negative nancies. if anything, its worth a try.
Tue Apr 10 2012 11:22PM ReportI'd disagree skill wheel system is the same as skills in other games (but it's in disguise), at least it gives you the option to basically switch classes whenever you like (if you get all skills that is). One of the better points of the game imo.
Character/skill animations..horrible. Idk how ppl can say it looks good...maybe compared to some sub-par F2P games or browser MMOs....for AA title with full price and sub I expect top notch in this day and age. Devs, pls pls go and look at some top Korean games, they know how to make character animations (usually). Even Aion's (~3+ yrs old) look like they come from the future compared to TSW.
Wed Apr 11 2012 5:53AM ReportWhen I first saw this game, I got real excited. I love the setting and the concept, and Ragnar Tornquist being so heavily involved (it's basically "his baby", something he started working on years ago), it looked to be an excellent title.
The mysterious and "real world-ish" teasers (esp. the first one with the girl coming home and finding a huge demon in her apt) really helped set the mood.
I still love the concept and the setting, but it seems with each subsequent video or trailer I see for it, it's losing its appeal. The in-game demos don't seem to reflect anything of what they describe in the interviews, the storylines or anything.
I got the impression of it being a more "open" and free-form type of experience early on. Not "sandboxy", just more open. With each new video or demo put out, it seems more and more to be another very guided and heavily mission/quest based affair with a few twists.
Basically the same thing we've seen done with RIFT (with the rifts) and TOR (story! story! story!) and other titles in the past several years.
I hope I'm wrong and I won't be able to say 'til I try it myself. All I know is, when companies are doing these demos and such, they typically put forth what they feel is their game's strongest and most complete features, while sorta tucking the less interesting and incomplete ones away.
Will be very disappointed if it turns out the way it seems to be, though.
Wed Apr 11 2012 7:33AM ReportI think the major draw here is no character classes or levels. I like the idea alot but hoping the game is actually good.
Wed Apr 11 2012 11:17AM ReportTab targeting so 1st generation .
Fri Apr 20 2012 11:29PM ReportStand still and talk some more. I don't want to see any of the actual gameplay.....
