SelfDestructPro writes: I think referencing Age of Conan so many times was a bad idea. I don't think people want to know that you're using the same systems that Conan does. Tue Apr 07 2009 8:47AM Report

Player_420 writes: I'm going to pray to the MMO gods that they don't waste time worrying about WORTHLESS features like player housing. Tue Apr 07 2009 9:55AM Report
beauturkey writes: Right, housing is worthless. NO ONE digs housing, because you don't. If you don't see how housing is not only a money sink but also very important to many many players, then you might want to consider looking around a bit. And I'm curious, if you think housing is worthless, what would you think is valuable? Judging from your name, I bet I could make a few guesses. Tue Apr 07 2009 10:36AM Report
Hashbrick writes: I don't know about you guys but the last thing I'm going to worry about is how my plants look in my house when there's frickin demon holes spurting all over the world. Just a thought. Tue Apr 07 2009 10:37AM Report
beauturkey writes: haha true that...but remember that although the character might be worried about demon holes, sometimes the player behind the character knows that there is no real danger. At least, I hope so. Tue Apr 07 2009 10:43AM Report
Arislan writes: nice inteview. But oh oh Funcom!? Age of Conan both sound like bad omen. I wonder if he will do the same mistakes ;) like ZERO itemization and ZERO item diversity.... Tue Apr 07 2009 11:44AM Report
Smikis writes: the part where he said that conan had content for a month was pure winner.. it had content for 2 months tho.. :D , but i like the way funcom is going, aoc improved a lot.. and if they go the way they say with this game, it have bright future Tue Apr 07 2009 1:21PM Report
Daedrick writes: This game will fail IF; -its not seamless -its not Real time action -its not First person view or over the shoulder view for fire arms -it doesnt have a good itemnization -it doesnt have a good economy -gameplay is clunky -its BUGGY And believe me, I really hope it wont have what I listed above because I LOVE THE LORE ( good vs evil, modern settings ). Forneus writes: This game sounds really interesting. Ragnar Tørnquist, and funcom, did a very good job with the longest journey games. I hope this game will have some of that atmosphere. :) Tue Apr 07 2009 5:47PM Report
Ekaros writes: Yep, I hope they get around itemisation from AO as AoC and AO are quite far ends of itemisation. Still seems like this game is a long a way, hope they won't over hype it and realy implement stuff and don't tune it down like AoC(Spellweawing...) Tue Apr 07 2009 6:57PM Report
ivan50265 writes: I hope they learned from the AoC debacle. If they didn't this will be the xecond great MMO idea they have messed up. Tue Apr 07 2009 7:37PM Report

Malakath writes: I like many of the ideas. Funcom has been short on execution so I hope can turn these words into action. Wed Apr 08 2009 7:05PM Report
Keridwan writes: I agree that a seamless world is crucial with as few instants as possible. For me that that was one of the main failures of AoC Wed Apr 08 2009 8:09PM Report
stormious writes: You can definitely tell that he is enthusiastic about his product. That is always a good sign. The guy seems very much aware of how to handle things. I'm not going to worry about the game just cause another title from the company didn't deliver, and this isn't even the same team working on it. He explained they have learned from past mistakes, and wasn't instanced zones the most complained thing in AoC? The games concept seems to be very strong and it is in the hands of developers who can pull it off.. Sounds like it will be epic! Sat Apr 11 2009 6:35AM Report
Nickinaround writes: He didn't reference AOC on his own, he did it because that is what the interviewer asked. Its not like he wanted to draw the correlations, but that is what the interviewer asked, so he answered. But finally a game that is out of the norm, that finally grabs something that noone has been aiming for and that is a game outside of the fantasy/sci-fi realm and going for a different kind of setting and realm! Great idea, I just hope Funcom can pull it off. Sun Apr 12 2009 12:27AM Report
irishsamurai writes: As for player housing, a game set in the "Real Life" genre would be nice to have housing. it would create more immersion into the game world if you could travel back home and see your place and possibly pictures of those you lost or are still currently fighting for etc. Mon Apr 13 2009 9:27PM Report
irishsamurai writes: How cool would it be to take "pics" of your friends in game and have them framed and displayed in your home! ;) Mon Apr 13 2009 9:33PM Report
Svayvti writes: With Gaute gone and Ragnar in charge this may have a chance. Wish Ragnar had been able to go back to save AO from the mess Gaute made it. Of course now people really just don't trust Funcom any more so Ragnar has a large uphill struggle to make with players. This game had better be really good because a lot of people aren't going to glance past "Funcom". Mon Apr 13 2009 10:38PM Report

Inktomi writes: I like the honesty that he displayed with the errors of the AoC launch and the fact that they are learning from past mistakes. That shows progression. 1) I like the RL setting with occultish touches. 2) No levels or skills, awesome. Train what you use and progress your character the way you want to. 3) Third time is the charm! IMO, Funcom has been around long enough to establish themselves as veterans in the MMO industry. This could be the big breakout game for them, I'm going to support them 100% in TSW. I was a big fan of AO and I always wanted them to redo the AO world in better setting and graphics and felt those resources weren't spent correctly on AoC. OK, I don't have the distant future, but present time is a good start. Tue Apr 14 2009 2:55PM Report
undertowpma writes: So this is WoD but not. Would rather play WoD online. CCP will make the better game, and they should be coming out around the same time, so will directly compete. This game will fail for that reason. Sat Jul 04 2009 3:30PM Report
Ngeldu5t writes: Nobody knows who will be better,Funcom is talking about their game and CCP isn't.So,for now,I'm all for TSW.As for myself I'll play both. Sun Sep 06 2009 1:04PM Report

Well those who are saying player housing is pointless dont understand much about sandbox games. After I am done kicking some zombie and demon butts I need to go home barracade myself in and organize my zombie tongue trophies. Than I can get myself a drink go to bed and log back in later to do some more zombie hunting!
