    Funcom has announced a new unlimited three day trial for The Secret World. In addition, trial players who complete thirty missions will receive an extra two days playing time and if they are able to take down the first dungeon boss, they will receive a unique ring.

    The Secret World's site has been updated with a new article to detail the group finder tool that will arrive when "Issue 2: Digging Deeper" goes live on September 11th. The tool will allow players to group for any playfield or dungeon in the game.

    Funcom has released its Q2 2012 investors' presentation. The document indicates that The Secret World has sold only 200k units at the time of writing and that the company is reducing costs through layoffs and other money-saving measures. The report also looks to the future with a new focus on "system-focused games with a high degree of community and player interaction".

  • Funcom Confirms Layoffs

    GamesIndustry.biz is reporting that Funcom is the latest development studio to be hit with a round of layoffs. The "cost adjustment initiative" comes just over a month since the launch of The Secret World. Funcom is stating that the layoffs are "temporary" and only one of several cost-cutting initiatives.

    Funcom has announced that the second of its monthly updates for The Secret World will be released on August 28th. Called 'Digging Deeper', the update will feature new character customization options via the barbershop and plastic surgeon as well as new investigation and action missions and a new rocket launcher.

    Funcom's Martin Bruusgaard has left a post on the official forums for The Secret World. In it, he details upcoming plan for high level PvP. Among other things, Bruusgaard admits that Fusang was never meant to be a "circle zerg" and that the team is looking closely at ways to make changes.

According to IncGamers.com, a huge beast will be laying waste to parts of New York after crawling out of the subway system. In addition to this news, Funcom has also released The Secret World on Steam.
