  • Update 6 Is Live

    The latest update to The Secret World has gone live. Called The Last Train to Cairo, the update features a bunch of new quests, a new zone and a decidedly Indiana Jones-esque look. Players will automatically download the update on logging in.

  • PvP Changes Coming in Update 6

    The Secret World's blog has been updated with new information about forthcoming changes in the PvP system. A new feature will be introduced called "Battle Ranks" that will reward PvP-specific experience for player kills. When the experience bar fills, players will be rewarded with "Distinction of the Council" currency which can be spent on PvP rewards.

    A new post has cropped up on The Secret World's official site that brings Indiana Jones to mind. Players are given a hint to next month's update called "The Last Train to Cairo". The update will feature new main and side quests and a new weapon, the whip. Lastly, the final battle will take place atop a speeding train. If that doesn't scream Indiana Jones, nothing does!

    As part of Funcom's ongoing restructuring, the company's Beijing studio will be closing. The studio was primarily responsible for art and animation for The Secret World. According to Gamasutra, these assets will now be produced by the Funcom studio located in North Carolina, USA.
