I've looked up some info about this game... but the videos I find for it are videos like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uk57oisDDJ0 I don't know if there are better ones that do a better job of showing the game off but in this video the combat looks very boring... It's the same tab targeting as always it just looks like its been slowed down... a lot... like a whole lot. I figured I would at least come on here an ask if someone can point me to perhaps a better video before I make a decisions to follow this game or not. "Don't mistake a fun game for a good game... Checkers is fun to play but its not exactly the highest point of gaming design... and definatly not worth $60 plus $15 a month" |

Savage coast walkthrough: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nutu1o3xIpE&ob=av3e GDC2011 footage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJ0IIX2_chA&feature=BFa&list=PL0C924CC99EB96680&lf=results_main NYCC tokyo flashback walkthrough: http://www.gametrailers.com/video/nycc-11-the-secret/722453
There is also one video that shows the light technology and sort of alan wake-ish dungeon, but i cant find it.
EDIT: here it is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mRwkJyL1Lc&feature=related PAX 11 EDIT2: You will have to take my word for it, but the combat is not boring or slow paced. Most of the game relies on cone-attacks and can be cast on the go without standing still. Its quite dynamic. |

Originally posted by AdamTM Okay the skill system looks pretty cool. Makes me a little worried though as in those classless systems people tend to just build their character with whatever skills are the best at the time. Combat still doesn't look that impressive in the videos but perhaps maybe I would need to watch someone streaming it or something to get a better idea. It looks like it will relase around the same time as GW2. Ill probably end up trying their Trinity-less model first... hopefully it doesn't spoil me too badly to at least give this game a try "Don't mistake a fun game for a good game... Not a good sign that mods are already closing threads like these on the official forums, either.
When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world. |

Originally posted by ShakyMo doubt GW2 will go into Q3, the game is pretty much ready. mid-summer at the latest. speaking of GW2, its combat system certainly didnt look this boring in the videos. it doesnt seem like you can do any combos in TSW....all the skills on your bar are disassociated |

Originally posted by Vhaln It's under NDA, what do you expect? I have seen the footage and the player presenting it was very very positive. ;) |

Originally posted by AdamTM I can confirm what AdamTM is saying here. There are a LOT of synergy between skills and it works even better when you team up (with a good team). Since you can have multiple builds and change between them at any time you can have builds that are customized for soloing, groups, pugs or duoing with a friend. The use of the synergies is what probably what is going to give TSW a very high skill ceiling instead of games like AoC where mechanical skill (hitting 20-30 hotkeys) is most important. TSW in comparison has a really easy UI with 7 active skills. Easy to use even with the default hotkey settings. ;) |

Originally posted by Vhaln I must have misunderstood then... I have mentioned a lot about the beta and none of my posts have been banned or threads removed. Where were the threads that were removed? |

Originally posted by Blackbrrd To be fair i wished they could implement an "action mode" i.e. a hard mouse-look so you don't have to press down RMB to swing the camera. It just seems it would fit better with the dynamic combat. That way if someone has a many button mouse you could bind your skills to the buttons and play it a bit more "actiony". |

@AdamTM when I tried the beta I did actually go into first person view and it did work out ok, can't remember if the camera got locked to your mouse or not. According to some posts I found about AoC it looks like you can do as you want and use a button to get out of mouse look mode. The controls for TSW are going to be very similar, so you can probably do it if you want. |
