I beta tested for it and really enjoyed it, the depth and story and feel to the game, but bugs and uncertainty about its endgame and things like that led me not to buy and subscribe, but now that it is $30 and B2P, what do you guys think of it?  Any one else beta test it and playing now, if so what is different?  Official forums saying its still alive and not going to die soon, do you agree?  I know it is still a work in progress but wouldn't mind jumping in, so thanks for any replies guys!

It's still alive and well, most of the bugs are gone (although some really annoying ones are still here) and the endgame is a dungeon gear grind like in most other MMOs, except the dungeons are more fun.

It's definitely worth the price.

Definitely worth $30 -- been playing since beta, and the game just continues to improve.  Player populations higher with B2P, and lots of chatter in game.  Engame is what you make of it -- nightmare dungeons are hard but fun.  Some people grind them, others don't.  You can also do lairs, the raid, unlock more decks (and outfits), get all the lore, plus some sandboxy things such as RP at the Albion theater.  Here's the stuff slated for 2013:

Better animations

PVP ranking and/or new rewards (coming Issue #5 or #6)

3 Lair Raid Boss (one in each update before Tokyo)

Investigation dungeon (heavily announced, no need for sources)

2 upcoming regions for 2013 (Tokyo and another)

when i first played  it  in beta i thought it was really  good  but i  couldnt affored the sub so i didnt buy it

when gw2 came out   i bought that  straight away  but  when  i saw the secret world  went  b2p  i also  bought it straight away

when i played TSW there wasnt any  single thing i found bad  just a collection of very small things which i found anoying

mainly i found the animations and  graphics  lacking and  the acctual game play  very bland and static

the controls also felt very clunky  and it  did  feel  like i was playing a single player game for most of it

i have a feeeling its  because  i hadnt played a mmo for  a few years and  just got used to the gw2 way  and  as soon as i tried  TSW  it just felt  wrong and i dont remember it feeling wrong before when i played it

i dont think   i have played  10 hours  and most of that i was kinda forcing myself to try to like the game  since  then ive gone back to  gw2  but i keep  thinking i must try TSW again  but   it feels like i must force myself to play it

if your  coming from a old school  mmo   like wow,  lotro , age of conan  then  i think you  will like it   but if your comming from somthing more modern like tera or gw2 i  think  you will feel like me

As B2P and at the discounts offered regularly on Steam and other platforms it's worth picking up for the setting and the story elements.

Most of the core issues are still there however. Combat is still poor compared to most other recent titles and even AoC ( the melee combat anyway, no clue about the current state of spellweaving in that game ), content outside of the story is very limited in scope and other than the few instances done terribly, so it might as well not be there at all, and while the bug density has decreased, there are still plenty left including some extremely annoying issues with basic UI functionality.

In short: In typical FunCom fashion the game continues to be a half-baked potatoe with some amazing ideas but some hilarious problems leaving you wondering how these people even survive without strangling themselves when tying their shoe laces.

Some people don't mind the game's shortcomings and that's their prerogative of course, most of us will want to play through the story and then be done with TSW though. I probably wouldn't recommend buying it for the full prize even now, but at 15$ you can't go wrong unless you're allergic to zombies.

Pretty much, except with the current bunch of content I'd say it's well worth even the full box price. Very nice missions and story for the most part. Some superb investigation missions. As an MMO it's not much, but even as a single player RPG it's still worth the money.

Defnitely worth the $30 even if you are just playing for the missions -- the amount of PVE content is well worth that.   There's 8 dungeons (normal, elite and nightmares levels), the raid, 8 lairs plus 8 zones worth of missions (approx 60 missions per zone, with 1-6 tiers per mission).

And much challenging combat than zombies once you get past Kingsmouth.  I think many of the people saying it's worth $15 played for 2 hours in the starting zone in beta.

Is there anywhere I can buy TSW for cheap? Around $15 maybe? I'm not sure I want to dish out $30 if I'm not going to like it.
