Are any steps going to be taken to balance factions with regard to Fusang?
I have been playing GW2 for a couple of weeks. Went back to pvp on Cerberus where it used to be reasonably balanced and found Fusang totally dominated by Templar or Illuminati whenever I logged on. It's not fun if you're Dragon.
What's up on Cerberus? Did all the Dragon pvpers leave? Are FC going to do anything about Fusang with regard to faction balance with this Digging Deeper content?
EDIT: Should I just re-roll as a TEMP and join the zerg herd and think of this as a 2-faction game with Lumies? |

Every time faction imbalance is brought up in a 2 faction game they say you need 3 factions, that way 2 of them can gang up on the third. Is this not happening? I don't really see this happening in gw2 either, so what will be the next faction imballance solution? 4 sided pvp? |

Originally posted by niceguy3978 GW2 pits servers against each other and they're balanced based on their score. So if Server A wins all the time, it'll be put against another server that keeps winning, while servers that lose all the time are put against each other. This sounds pretty good on paper, at least if the game is popular enough to have many servers. So, in GW2's case, it's not entirely based on the PvP being 3 sided. I don't think making PvP 3 sided or 20 sided will keep it balanced. In reality, players aren't social enough to make temporary alliances. And no, TC, I haven't heard anything about faction balance in Fusang. They did say they're going to make defending more rewarding, but other than that, nothing. |

Originally posted by Scalpless I agree with this. Or at least the social tools aren't available to make it happen at present.
EDIT: I think you will have to go in with a guild that likes to pvp as a premade. Fusang doesn't favor casual pvp if your side doesn't have zerg power. |

Originally posted by 7star Back in the early MMO days (UO, DaOC, EQ, SWG) people were actually social. Games were created that way to promote it. Now it's all about me, me, me with the whole focus on rewards / gear grinds. And this effects PVP as well, as people keep the same asocial attitude, refusing to cooperate. That's why I don't PVP in MMO's anymore.... it's pointless. Few exceptions there regarding some guilds. But that's about it. The old "social" days are long gone. It died when WoW released and people became egocentric NEED before greed maniacs. /shrug |
