Sword/hammer for PVP Blaze/AR for PVE The combat system has in fact proven to be simplistic, and 1 build is best for each situation so everyone will use it. That is what is happening right now. So I was 100% right on that, at the start of beta. On top of that, Funcom are allegedly going to nerf blaze PVE spec. So as predicted, the cycle of nerfbattingthe best build will start - and continue - just like every other MMO. lol...I know quite a few cabal members that would disagree with your assessment....especially since only a few use AR....I actually have leveled solely with Chaos/Hammer and when Im finished killing 1 mob, my health might go down 3%. I was actually attacked once by a regular wendigo and an alpha wendigo....killed the regular wendigo, got the alpha to 75% and then another alpha came....ended up killing both with 25% health left to spare. Im pure tank spec...not having any issues killing anything at all.

Sword/hammer has impairs, weakness, exposed. You're talking about having trouble killing mobs to someone in full QL10.4 epic NM gear with epic glyphs and signets. Get a sense of context.

Interesting video... but it simply proves that good teamwork pays off in TSW A few questions about Stackolee's "amazing" performance though: Why does he kill so slowly in the first 2/3 of the clip ? By 2:06 he has only downed 1 enemy. In this half, his health only once drops below 3K, but he's not even scratching any of his attackers. Why does he kill so fast in the third minute of the clip ? Between 2:06 and 2:53 he kills 5 enemies. Quite a few of these seem to be at low health when he engages them (taking dmg from off-screen ?) Between 2:43 and 2:55 he suddenly loses 3.7K health ! Did some real opposition arrive ? At this point he would have died, but on the minimap you can see about 5-6 Illuminati arrived to back him up. Between 0:15 and 0:25 he regains 5.2K health while under constant attack ! That's some serious self-healing, and he didn't even use a potion. Which special passive trigger heals you for 6-7K in 10 seconds ? I want it ! Stackolee did not do this alone, that much is clear. He has a good tank build, but more importantly, he has good backup. Why else hide the buff icons and the combat spam ?

I've looked through chronicles and haven't seen anyone in the top 100 xp earned in full gear. You would think that those that play the most should also be the best geared. Methinks u r a liar.

Endgame PVE is a joke for anyone wanting to go Mdps or even stray away from Ele/AR. Even heal/tank specs are completely cookie cutter. Tbh they would've been better off having classes and limiting the ability wheel to some extent.

While I agree with the OP about cookie cutter builds, I'd take the video with a grain of salt. It's obvious the guy in the video was exploiting a broken signet that gives 100% block chance instead of the intended 10%. He then uses reactive heals that heal him every time a hit is blocked to take advantage of the broken signet.

I think the original arguement is inherently flawed in that "Best" can be subjective. My 'best" build is the one that I connect with and have the most fun with while being able to complete content. "Pistol/Shotgun", in my case,.from this I can DPS and heavy Support. Mission accomplished. And I solo just fine, ty. If the argument is simply a Numbers game, then yes,..the best build for numbers can be calculated. But obviously not all players are here for the numbers alone. Same can be said for any MMO to date. And other MMO's such as SpreadsheetOnline,..er,..I mean EveOnline is probably a wet dream to them.( not bashing Eve,.it is the best game I won't play(anymore), imho). On top of that,..the openess of this system allows me the freedom to build your exact same 'best' build anytime I want once I finish unlocking the wheel, if I felt like it, without starting from scratch becasue I didn't choose a hunter or bloodmage, or whatever. The rest is gear, which is not prohibitively obtainable either.

There were "best" builds in SWG too. I still didn't want ot be a TKM Rifleman Doctor though. I did my own thing, and yes those people would stomp me up and down 1v1. I still don't care. Balancing everything is part of the great dumbing down. I may not have been able to take on a "Best" build, but I could sure knock a Jedi Knight on the ground with my TKM, Fencer, Master Swordsman, Master Brawler. "I am not in a server with Gankers...THEY ARE IN A SERVER WITH ME!!!"

I could down those 5 guys near him in less than 8s even with the healer, and I don't even have epic weapons yet because I only play PvP and the Illuminati in my server is white mark locked so I couldn't get the epic weapons with my black marks. I'm not showing my build or posting any videos, you believe if you want. EDIT: IMHO, Open skill systen is the way to go in games.

It's a turn off pvp wise but funny nonetheless. the buiild in the OP can take more punchs to the face. if the opponents used less shit dmg builders/AoEs and more hard hitters, he would never be alive for that longer. some of those guys from the fight (the ones that do lots of little damage hits) should have stayed away from him.
