Reversing charges like this will also get banned from a website/MMORPG. You know what is worse? Getting banned from Amazon! A friend of mine got banned because he did a chargeback. So that is what all companies do. But in his case he is blacklisted from using Amazon ever again :D So now he can't use the same address + name combination ever! But yeah you signed up to a recurring sub service and autorenews automatically so you have to cancel before payment is due. |

I hate to use logic on the internet as it seems odd to so many but here it goes.
CANCEL YOUR ACCOUNT AFTER ANY AND ALL PAYMENTS IF YOUR BROKE SO LATER YOU DONT GET A CHARGE YOU CAN NOT AFFORD! I had kept paying for EvE Online a few years back when I was down, no internet or anything. I would go to a friends or Mc Donalds to jump on a quick wifi to load up some more skills because I could manage the sub with my ingame isk and keep training for my later return. I still cancel most every game I am sub'ed to after paying just because I hate not actively paying for something. |

Little hint, for myself I tend to read and reread everything to make sure what exacly I am buying, it tends to help. Not trying to be an ass here , but some times they word it differently , depends on the company. |

Originally posted by P4YB4CK I don't think the OP had an issue with finding out how to cancel. His issue was that he wasn't aware he had to cancel anything because he, like myself, thought the subscription past the first free month wasn't set up. I, personally, have a 6th sense when it comes to my subs and I went to check to be sure that they didn't bamboozle me and set it up anyway. Which they did. So I was able to cancel my sub before they pulled money from me. I'm still not happy about not knowing they had set a sub up, though. Lately 3 games have pulled this crap, Earthrise, Tera and now TSW. Never had this issue with SWTOR or other MMO in the past 10 years. |

I hear you elocke and understand where your coming from, however I have never had a problem with Funcom myself, but I did with a couple of other mmo titles in the past, one of them was 'LoTRO' before it went to F2P, but Turbine rectified themselves and credited me. |

For every one person who has some strange billing or customer service problem, tens of thousands don't. I've had good experiences so far. To pretend this is the experience everyone is getting from Funcom, is ludicrous. ---- The game is a themepark. The setting, graphics, some of the puzzle mechanics, and the ability to change and hold multiple roles in a group make it more fun than most themeparks, but it's still just a themepark. They are all the same, and 30 days into Guild Wars 2, I suspect everyone is going to feel the same way about it though more people will realize they have nothing else new to play and will probably just keep playing it. A lot of people have been playing the BWE's and find that once you get past the fancy repackaging of standard themepark features, it's still more of the same. The point is, themepark = story driven contrived content, gear grind, PvP, and raiding. That's about it. That's all you are getting in any pure themepark. Until something actually innovative and new comes along, all you can do is pick one you like most, or leave the genre. I personally consider TSW to be the best themepark game ever made from the standpoint of actually being interesting and feeling hand-crafted. Even WoW failed to emmerse me in the game world like this. I prefer something more along the lines of a sandbox (or hybrid) but we clearly have no viable options for that yet. |

There was no cancel option for me either. I spent a good 5 minutes looking before I just deleted my Paypal info. I didn't get charged though. |

I can only speak to my own experiance. I've had 3 accounts with Funcom, for me and my 2 boys. We played AOC on and off and I've never had a problem with billing. When I cancelled accounts atleast 9 times between the 3 accounts, I've never been incorrectly billed. So I take claims like this with a grain of salt. |

The one thing I could have done that I didn't was contact their support to make absolutely sure 100% I would not be billed before the 30 days expired. But I assumed their web page was telling me correctly that they weren't going to bill me.

I can confirm there was no cancel option on my account page either. I just removed my credit card payment option and took a screenshot of the confirmation page for my records. I just assumed it was the usual bullcrap that FC likes to feed us. Anywho, no charges were made to my CC.
A word of advice to the OP though, FC is a master at forum trolling and manipulating. I would venture a guess that they have MMORPG FC-related forums under their grasp too. So there's no point in arguing it here. Just state your case and move on to a better game. |

FC is terrible. When I wanted to cancel my subscription, I couldn't find any option for that. I wrote to customer service asking how to cancel my subscription/account so that I would not be charged for the new month. Off course, I never got any reply. Few days later, I managed to find some option to cancel account/subscribtion/method payment, but it wasn't very clear.

I would not believe that if this is the case that it would only be Funcom that can do it. I'm so broke. I can't even pay attention. |
