Nice addition..:) To an already very good looking game "With this update we have enabled TXAA, and The Secret World is the first game in the world to support this anti-aliasing technique! This requires the newest NVIDIA Kepler (600) series of GPU. To enable TXAA in the video options of the game select "TXAA 2x" or "TXAA 4x" as your anti-aliasing" |

If anyone could take some video footage with this enabled to see how the game looks I'd love to see it. The game is already jaw dropping with the rest of the settings maxed. |

Found this thread on Anadtech and people seem to think that this tech is not moving forward. People are talking about the blur.

All the videos I've seen using this tech make the game look worse....Even the Nvidia video with the announcement. Everything's washed out, blacks are more grey, motion blur, etc.

People need to be aware there is a motion blur option in TSW. Whenever you move the camera it blurs everything and that will show up in screenshots or videos. Nothing to do with graphics.
EDIT: Found an nvidia article that had a comparison video. Subtle different, but most definitely does not make anything worse.

Originally posted by colddog04 HA! I actually just reactivated my account to try it out. It is a TON better than FXAA it has sort of an odd effect with some of the colors for some reason but isn't bad or anything I like it. Still wish the game had support for forcing all forms of AA so I could use sgssaa but overall I'm very pleased with TXAA. Although to play it at TXAA 4X i need to turn tessellation off because having both on rape my fps. I can still maintain 50+ fps with my current setup at TXAA 4x and tess off I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. If I buy a candy bar at a store, oftentimes, I will drop it... so that it achieves its maximum flavor potential. --Mitch Hedberg |

I turned it on on my 680GTX, the game looks even more amazing. I like the visuals even more than with regular FXAA

Nobody is going to notice the difference by eye,it is like saying 60 fps looks better than 30 fps. What makes it good is the performance increase. This of course is usually exaggerated by developers [Nvidia].Their claim is that TXAA comes close to movie making quality. They are claiming you will get about 2-3x better performance than the normal MSAA. Personally i have played games seeing the jagged edges and lost those just by increasing the screen size,so ya you won't notice much from AA except the performance hits.2x AA has always been good enough for me. http://www.youtube.com/user/Napolianboo#p/u/15/rCYLLQCNc1w |

Actually the change is quite apparent, even when going from FXAAHQ, to TXAAx2. It hits performance though. Down about 5-10 fps between from FXAAHQ to TXAAx2, and 10-15 fps from FXAAHQ to TXAAx4. If your rig can support it, with decent fps, then its a vast and visible improvement. It will however not be practice for a lot of rigs, as most won't be powerful enough. At least with all settings maxed. |

Originally posted by grapevine Agree, it looks really good, although I have a GTX680 which is not very common due to the price. The improvement is significant, every edge looks very smooth, it´s a little extra kick to the already stunning graphics of TSW |

Running 4xTXAA @ a GTX680. Underwhelmed, now don't get me wrong it's a noticable difference to the crappy FXAA "HQ" they offered but still it's far from good. The TXAA implementation was rushed despite the delay of over 2 months. The quality varies depending on the zone (level) you are in. Anyway looking at what 4xTXAA really demands i wonder why they spend all the money and time into (4x)TXAA which still looks like crappy 2xmsaa. The brute forced (downsampling) / sparese grid supersampling takes a similar performance hit at 4x and looks _far_ better. |

guess the close cooperation with Nvidia is a good thing, regarding driver updates, new technology, etc. Finally an MMO wich takes high end graphics cards into account |
