The characters in Secret World, so far, have character. While some like the internet meme-spounter can be quite annoying, they still have character. My player character does not have character, he's just a cog. This doesn't make the VO better or worse, just different. As far as lifetime sub...well...if you are a completionist...I think it might take you quite a bit of time to do ALL of the content. Even with the most scarce play schedule, I doubt it'd take a year. Anarchy Online has had 2? expansions, and AoC has had one...so it's not like they bury you in new content at any point.

Originally posted by VultureSkull I found your comments quite comical and ridicules tbh, as for lasting two months or so then I feel you are either naive or just a plain idiot. I predict it will end up the same as GW1, which if my memory serves me well is still running strongly to this day. But then I live in reality and not fantasy unlike many...I also feel you are being a little judgemental and a tad bias, as it's plane to see you like TSW atm and that's cool ofc, whatever floats your boat! But it will be interesting to see if you feel the same way about TSW in a few months time, we will see... I am still playing GW1 and while it has many shortfalls it's still a bunch of fun to pick up and drop as and when I feel like and ofc it's FREE unlike TSW. I've been hanging around like many others for something fresh to play that is still in fantasy, but sadly there is little about atm, hence why I'm still playing Vanguard until GW2 pops out next month. Funcom is not my favourite company after their last two lots of work they produced and whilst it appears that TSW has made them a little more credible, they still have a long way to go in my eyes personally and one game does not make a company amazing over night, so you would expect them to get it right third time round or sink, maybe their ex CEO knows something we don't ;) So TSW has far more to prove than GW2 I my humble opinion and on track record I know which comes out on top for sure and should I have to buy either game TSW would not be my first choice and box for box I think I know which will shift more units too. Enjoy your gaming, Bandit |

Seeing how bad lifetime subs have been through this would not be ideal anyhow. Games recently out and unless lifetime subs are always an option during its life span i do not see any good comming from this. If the lifetime sub is for a limited time then its just another money grab. |

You'd have to be insane to buy a lifetime sub for this, but you're free to waste your money. |

Originally posted by Blackbrrd That's my point black. Ikeda is saying the opposite. :) I mean who buys a lifetime sub thinking they'll only play 2-3 months? I would call those people the die hard fans. |

Originally posted by Darkfalz89 Forgive my lack of knowledge on it but, is GW2 even an MMO? I thought it was the same type of game as GW1, which, was better compared to Diablo 1 when played on Battle net. Unless I am wrong, and I may be, isn't GW2 pretty much sit in a hub, form a group then run into the portal to take you to the playzone, then when it completes, zone you back to the hub?
Again, maybe I am wrong but I thought thats about what it is. And if it is, it can't be compared with an actual MMO (IMO) www.90and9.net |

Originally posted by Quicksand GW2 is a true MMORPG. GW1 is a CO-RPG with a lobby system (like Diablo 1 you mentioned.) The constant comparison between GW1 and GW2 is false on both sides. The two games only have their lore in common (albiet hundreds of years difference.) That's it. |

I would defo go for life time if I had the spare up front cash. My only gripe with it is I want the developers to work for my cash that I give them every month. Do lifetimer's make it easy for dev's to be lazy? Though I fully agree with the OP funcom never ever abandon a product and for that they get my qudos. I disagree so heavily that despite not being done with my review for the site I work for I felt compelled to post here. Every time a new MMO comes out everyone goes bananas with how awesome it is. The truth is, TSW is a very, very mediocre game. The questing can be fun, and has streaks of brilliance, but doesn't save the rest of the game. The most fundamental thing to an MMO, the combat, is terrible in TSW. It's clunky, the animations are god-awful, and in PvP it's a spammy mess. The cities feel dead, the game lacks content, there is way too little instruction, the UI is the second worst I've experienced next to Final Fantasy XIV... the list goes on and on. Anyone who lifetime subs is making a mistake. This game will have trouble retaining 50k players, let alone enough to keep it afloat. www.gamerevolution.com |

Originally posted by NightBandit GW1 us running since release, so are both funcom's products. Both are totally different games, but GW1 was a niche audience just as this game is. GW1 was not "free" it cost $180 assuming you bought it each expansion at launch. Secret World was $250 assuming Lifetime sub. Not really that much of a difference, and if you bought the CE of each(Think they were $70.00 each, only found "Factions" press release though). So that would bring it to $240.00. Lifetime is a CE edition of TSW, so price point is nearly identical, though spread out of a couple years vs all up front(which is obviously a better option than up front) Either way I feel they are totally different games attracting different crowds. |

They definitely need some work. And although much works needs to be done on some of the UI functionality - comparing to FF14 UI? please. |
