Originally posted by Panthien Most people don't consider themselves ugly in real life, who would we want to be ugly in a video game? And yes, most models in TSW are ugly. Strange body proportions, wierd looking faces, unnatural animations... In my opinion, if you want a good example of uncanny valley, TSW character models are it.

Originally posted by Aerowyn The irony in your statement is this, you really can get darn close to celeb's that ARE considered to be very attractive. We took this to the test with faceface recognition software and picture overlay's. Then again (this may be subjected to region differences of opinions) in general realistic based (art) styles are considered less attractive then more cartoonish styles, for some reason anime styles seem to be considered the most attrative (and ussually the least realistic).

Originally posted by Panthien still here trying to find some combo that looks even remotely decent for female have yet to find one and you really don't have a whole lot of options to play with.. not to mention when If I hit the cycle button I get some of the ugliest most deformed looking faces I have ever seen in a video game. I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. Originally posted by Panthien I have yet to see a single person on these forums or on the official forums aside from super fanboys who actually "love" the character models in this game.. aside from combat it's pretty much the biggest complaint I see I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. Originally posted by Aerowyn They all look like Gw1 for the most part, oops hit post before I was done. That said Gw2 CC is meh but the game is beyond overhype atm, TSW meh but attacked non stop, and WoW which are pretty bad but is top dog. If the gameis good and I mean good, I don't care all that much about a decent CC. Aion has a sweet once but we see where that game is, same with TERA again not the top selling game atm. |

Originally posted by Saxonblade somewhat although GW1 had very long necks which always bothered me heh... but still overall I agree GW2 doesn't have the best creations either but also GW2 isn't trying to mimic real life either.. i was able to make much better looking faces in AoC I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. Originally posted by Saxonblade GW2 has more stylized art style so the models don't look that bad, although I'm not a huge fan of human characters in that game either, but your brain can tell that it's not realistic so it doesn't look wierd. TSW tries to go for the more realistic look and crosses that barrier that makes the models and the faces look odd. Just my opinion.

Originally posted by Aerowyn I ran into plenty of both, the hate ussually is easier to find.. Funny enough most of the gripes about the faces is fairly easy to resolve with just a few shades and skin tone shifts, not entirely sure how to discribe that in proper english (not my 1st language) , but it wasnt even hard to adjust (some) of the faces to be significant more attractive. Skin complexions are needed too, the skin appears a bit deadish. Heck trow in some blush effects. Dont get me wrong I understand the issues, we just tried to figure out what is causing it. |

The character creator is definitely sparse on physical feature variety, but a lot of this will be moot once people discover that they can wear headgear (i.e., people won't notice your hair and/or facial features). |

Originally posted by spector_0_0 Yeah, see I never got why people go so crazy over CC, after spending hours making your face, you enter the game and at some point this really cool looking helm drops and BAM there goes your face under it. |
