The Raids in WoW are anything but simple - or were anything but simple at least. Looking at what TSW has planned for more advanced content, the game doesn't seem shallow at all with the multiple lairs, summonable lair bosses, region bosses, nightmare dungeons for the ones that wants to pick their brains, and so on. Lastly, you have PvP where you have to shuffle your builds around to handle the steady adaptation of your opponents. |

Couldn't even log in properly to give this game a chance. 15 gigs (more or less) of wasted bandwidth is all that Funcom is getting out of me. I soak bridges in kerosene as I walk across them. No mercy for corporations. |

if you don't like the Dragon faction intro, you should play other faction, probably the Templars faction. the Dragon is chaotic, they try to show it right from the start, if you can't stand it, it's because it is not for you, sorry. |

Originally posted by Mmotosher To me it is not about the world at all. I didn't feel I was part of it at all. I felt like I was playing GAIII or some other console game. Nothing about the game was immersive. Simple things like doors. How can you draw a door and not have a door knob sticking out - they were drawn on circles. The cars looked liked rectangles with drawn on bumpers, etc. It is the most unrealistic game I have seen. It is these little details that make it immersive. When I was killing nothing but zombies for a hour, I was like "OK I have had enough." One needs more that what they are giving to be immersive. |

Stop waiting for companies to hold your hand and lead you to grouping. Ask people in chat and they will be more than happy to group up with you. It is not a single player game, people just want to play it that way. Days of forceD grouping are gone, start takinG an initiative yourself. I have been playing with my friend since yesterday, how hard it is to group up? |

If I was looking for a FPS combat game I wouldn't have looked at this game since it didn't advertise as a FPS combat game. Why do so many ignore the games they want and play the ones they don't and then complain. |

Since you are the first person to even mention FPS combat, perhaps you should ask yourself if it might be possible that people weren't actually asking for FPS combat. |

I got a few quests into the starter town and quit. There was nothing immersive or interesting about the story at that point, and if I want to kill thousands of zombies there's much better games for it. The combat being absolutely unenjoyable doesn't help matters any. I've tried several times to get into this game, and each time I end up quitting earlier than the last time. My current character is at the weapon selection part of the tutorial, and there she shall stay for all eternity (or until Funcom deletes her) because I just can't bring myself to pick a weapon again. They all feel and look terrible, IMO. I can honestly say this game is one of the biggest disappointments I've had since Ultima 8. The fact that it's $50 + sub fee means I'll be passing this by completely (I'm through paying box price + sub fee for MMOs). Edit: Regarding the Dragon intro, my character isn't bisexual or a lesbian. That's not the kind of decision / character trait that should be forced on players. It's shitty storytelling on their part. I don't care if she's a fox demon or not, it's BS. |

Thats so funny :))))) Pretty sure not everyone shares your opinion that it's " one of the most beautiful graphics out there." Even if that were the case, however, the character models, lack of attention to environmental details, and pretty generic art direction (colors, style, etc) make it so the "beautiful" graphics are pretty lost on me. Also, the game looks pretty bad on anything below high settings - and no I won't change my rig when for whatever reason I can play all other games at high no problem but this one. |

Originally posted by Tamanous Lot of rather insulting assumptions and accusations from you here. I'm going to point out why you're wrong. 1. I knew about the lore ahead of time, I read about what you talked about, and know what fey creatures are. Pretty much everyone knows what fey are like, especially gamers/geeks. Perhaps the others here who have been following the game for a long time were also aware. 2. It's not a lack of maturity on the part of players to feel awkward and uncomfortable with the unsubtle, hamhanded and immature way the developers of the game force certain things down your throat. Little tip here: the inclusion of sexual themes is not automatically a marker of maturity. In fact a lot of people often feel otherwise. Take a look at TERA--now, they could have designed TERA in a way that was mature. A land where people dressed with little shame, where sexuality was more liberated, where the major republic was a more enlightened and sexually progressive state. Instead, they forced everyone to look like porn stars. Revealing skin and open sexuality could have been designed into that game in a more careful way, instead they designed the game with the maturity of a fifteen-year-old boy and forced it on players. Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not actually mad about that scene in TSW, nor do I think TSW treats sexuality/gender with immaturity anywhere else in the game (so far). That one scene just happened to be hamhanded in a sexual way. It felt like watching a good movie and then suddenly there's a really cheesy sex scene. It just isn't necessary. Either treat the subject with the care it deserves or don't include it. 3. Blatant homophobia? In this thread? I haven't read through the entire thread after your post yet, but seriously, I don't even know where this is coming from. Just because people felt uncomfortable having cunnilingus hamhandedly acted out on-screen doesn't mean it's homophobia. Seriously, what gives? |

Originally posted by Poison_Adele Actually, they're treating sexuality in a very mature, no nonsense way, by not making a big fuss about it. There's a very big difference in that Dragon scene in TSW or how sexuality is treated in games like TERA or singleplayer games (too many examples) on one side. The biggest example is, look how sexuality is treated in the rest of the game: regular clothes, no overdose of lsexy underwear/bikini armor and miniskirts and skin (TERA, Aion are good examples but not the only ones), no oversexualised character models, that should already give a clue of the attitude towards sexuality in TSW, a casual, down-to-earth one. The whole Dragon scene wasn't a break of that, certainly not immature because it fitted perfectly in the TSW lore and setting. I didn't have a problem with the scene, nor did I feel embarassed or get aroused by it: Illuminati got drugged to transfer to a past event, Templar got hypnotised and Dragon got seduced and mesmerised to get transferred, nothing more to it. There isn't even a loveline a la Bioware games about it, it was just getting down to business and getting you there where you needed to be. Nothing immature about it. I can see how some people might feel uncomfortable about it, just like people can feel uncomfortable when confronted with nudists even when for them it's nothing special, but that doesn't mean that some people's discomfort means that nudism is immature. Neither is the Dragon astral transfer scene.
Seriously, it should be obvious that the whole approach towards sexuality in a TSW or TERA is miles, miles apart: in one is the appeal to sensuality and sexuality one of the core foundations, while in the other the single sensual scene ingame is a casual, business-as-usual no big deal thing: nothing to romanticize or glorify but also nothing to shy away from. If anything, it's a more mature or adult approach than the (adolescent) oversexualisation you see done in MMO's - TERA, MMO bikini armor etc - and a hell of a lot of singleplayer games. |

Originally posted by p_c_sousa Basicly this for me, ive been looking forward to this game ever since i heard about it middle of last year and have been reading the official forums, watching the vids ect. The graphics look great from what ive seen playing the beta - the little i did - , voice work well done, even making the character up i quite liked as there was a decent amount of options. Just uninstalled the game, why...simple the combat control system is awful and makes it next to unplayable for me, played very little and even STOs combat is better than this.
