  • Meditation System Detailed

    Darkfall Online developers have revealed more information about the 'meditation system' that will allow players to level skills of their choice while offline. Players purchase meditation points and then can choose the skill(s) to work on via an in-game panel or on the Darkfall External Web Interface Tool.

    A new blog post has surfaced at the official Darkfall Online site. In it, players get a look at the Vargashi race models and some information about dynamic quests that will center around the lore behind the various races included in Darkfall.

  • Optimizing Interaction

    In the latest developer blog on the official Darkfall Online site, lead game designer, Tasos Flambouras, uses a catch all phrase, "Optimizing Interaction", to discuss how the team is working hard to make the game better for both PvE and PvP players. Flambouras talks about the progress on the upcoming expansion including working with player feedback to improve the new player experience among many other things.

  • Cutting Down the Tedium

    In a new 'Activity Report' on the official Darkfall Online forums, lead developer, Tasos Flambouras, talks about the new availability for players to level skills offline. Part of the reason Flambouras gives for bringing offline skill leveling to Darkfall is to cut down on the tedious, repetitive tasks that new players encounter when entering the game. By enabling offline skill leveling, new players 'close the gap' faster.

  • What Lies Ahead

    At the recent Hellenic Game Developer's Conference, Darkfall Online lead developer, Tasos Flambouras, made a few statements during a presentation that caused a few eyebrows to be raised in wonderment. In a new post on the Darkfall forums, Flambouras clarifies his statements a bit and gives a bit of a peek in to what lies ahead in terms of Darkfall, a new expansion and the possibility of Darkfall 2.

  • Expansion Release Pushed Back

    Darkfall Online's lead developer, Tasos Flambouras, has posted on the official forums that the expansion will be delayed slightly to Tuesday, October 5th. The team discovered some systems that need to be retested to avoid problems when the expansion officially launches.

  • Tasos Flambouras Dousing the Flames

    Earlier this week,'s own Paragus revealed a community-based Darkfall developer Q&A on his blog, Paragus Rants. In it, Aventurine devs answered some 57 questions about the game and its upcoming (and delayed) expansion. As with many things Darkfall, flames erupted on the official forums with fans claiming the development team was being evasive in their answers and may have avoided some topics completely. Tasos Flambouras has weighed in on the controversy.

  • Monsters on Agon

    The Darkfall community liason, Laenih, has created a new post on the official forums. The thread covers the upcoming changes to the monster AI. Monsters in Agon have the same skills available to them that players have but there are big changes in store. Monsters will be given new skills that are unique to their type.

  • Expanded Distribution Plans Result in Price Cut

    Aventurine has plans to expand their distribution of the FFA PvP MMO Darkfall to both online and retail outlets, and Aventurine's Tasos Flambouras has announced a new price cut in preparation for these plans. The Darkfall client has been reduced to $29.95 (both USD and Euro) and this also includes VAT for the European players out there, Aventurine will be absorbing the added cost.

    Not content to tease their fans with images from the upcoming armor and model overhaul, Aventurine is now in the business of teasing us with new mounts! Darkfall Community Liason Laenih took the official Darkfall forums today with an announcement of two new mounts: the Tribeland Bear for the Mahirim, and the Blue Tail Runner.

  • Better Communication Promised, Players to be Invited Back

    Aventurine's Tasos Flambouras has announced via the official Darkfall forums that the development team will be kicking off a new initiative to really step things up on community relations with the players. The idea here is to better respond to feedback and provide insight on a number of players' concerns with the game. Tasos also announced that old players will be invited back to the game on April 26th in order to experience the changes the team has made to the game in their absence.
