Aventurine has done this so many times over the last 3(?) yrs (and been caught) I cant remember how many times they have been caught lieing, unable to remember they told us they had been "working,fixed,completed"  [fill in the blank] only to repeat the same claim months later that they had just finished [fill in the blank] again, missing a 'for reals this time'

Aside from the obvious, EA...

In a world which for the most part tells me exactly what to do , where to do it and how to dress while I am doing it for 40 hours of my life and for the rest of my hours in life provide me with a long series of boriing options of things to in addition to many things I would like to do I would have to ask the city permission to do and would likely be declined and finally with the limited options of DIFFERENT MMOs to play I am not about to not play the best MMO on the market because the company lies.

If I want to stand for sometimthing that involves me giving up something I enjoy I sure am going to select something far more important that a gaming company.

Try this formula.

Ignore everything and anything a game development company says to the point of maybe not even knowing who developed the game. Then, play the game you like and dont play the game you dont like.

I doubt when you watch TV you question the intergrity of the TV stations management do you?

all of those besides SV I have dealt with, and while I think EA/SONY are pretty close, Its the groundhog day style of blog reposting AV does that I have not seen anywhere else.  The other game dev's dont repeatedly post 'worked on your car today and fixed your brakes' only to post again in 2 months 'we worked on your car today and fixed your brakes'.

Its the slight change in vocab to the same repeated sentence over the coarse of time that I find extremely disingenuous

dont get me wrong thoguh, i am excited at the prospect of darkfall 2.0 but its been a lnog time coming im starting to question if it ever will.

Given the current massive economic problems in Greece, it's possible that AV might have to relocate to another country if they want to continue doing business.

The terms "foreign investment" and "Greece" are almost mutually exclusive these days, so AV will have a massive battle finding a "partner" to invest in DF2. I suppose they could always sell the game to the Chinese...

That shouldnt discourage them from searching for international investors which i believe they have already done.

In most entertainment venues people simply expose themselves to what they find entertaining and dont expose themselves to what they dont find entertaining. People dont typically go around inspecting the integrity of the TV station they watch or the film studio that makes the movie they choose to watch.

Reading any gaming forum people might get the impression that this simple forumla doesnt work well in gaming. People might get the idea that the entertainment value of the game itself is totally tied to the integrity of the game development company and how well they communicate to their public.

Its very strange to me. To me I dont care what anyone (company or otherwise) says they are 'gonna' do, I only care what they actually do and in games what they actually do is the code that is put into production NOTHING else and yes I am someone who feels the Darkfall code that is in production is better than the code that is in production for EQ2 as well as other mainstream games.

In all fairness I am no longer playing any game because of time but if I was to start playing again I would play darkfall and I would only stop playing it when I wasnt having fun anymore..simple.

if you are not playing, you got also no clue what's going on in DF currently...

just lets take one of the issues the game has since about 2 month, the server delay on EU.. and know lets adapt it to your glorious comparation....

imagine, you really love one tv series which is on air at one station only, it's the series you really love, you watch it since 2 years... now suddenly from one day to the next, you still see it on tv, but the audio is delayed, so you see the scene and hear the sound with a variable delay... sure you may continue to watch the series, but you will probably be really pissed off about the tv station when they are not able to fix the issue with their satellite connection.... now imagine that this continues 2 month...

if you can't imagine that, i suggest you take a movie of your choise and use a player with codecs where you may setup the audio stream timing (ie. ffdshow) and watch the movie with a 2 seconds deleay, afterwareds post how you liked it....

I somehow am finding this pursuasive...as much as I dislike AVs "updates" and "information" on DF2 and the whole wipe issue.

I think about Fox TV and Modern Family. I love Modern Family.
