For what it's worth, update on 2.0. Seems that they got an alpha version online in the last week or two. No concrete details on the wipe talk.
Enjoy! -Andrew |

..getting Taso'd again. Nothing new other then the "felt difference" in wording about the DF 2.0 as a real new game with mentioning a beta testing for that new game. Other then that the usual vague wording of "chapter 2" and continuation of existing Darkfall thats is in the same time a serious new game.

Someone care to explain what the f**k this sentence means: "Darkfall 2.0 is a new game, however, it is also the new chapter of Darkfall."????? So what is it? A new game or an expansion or a patch, with wipe or without, will you have to buy a new game, will the two DF-games co-exist etc etc. Seriously, can't they at least hire someone who knows how to lie well and confuse us without us thinking we are confused? |

It is a "reimagine" of DF. Just as the new Spider-Man movie is a reimagine of the old one. Nothing strange here. |

Don't expect great artwork from a coder. It just doesn't happen. |

What's there to be confused about? (I'm not attacking, I relate to the confusion)
The way I see it, there's something new coming and they're not releasing information about what it is, other than a few teaser statements that could mean just about anything.
There's a few things that can be decoded (based on having followed DF before release). If they say it's alpha, it's completely torn apart and not running. If they say it's in beta, then it's really in alpha and base framework isn't even finished yet. If they say it's playable and will start taking testers in a few weeks, you probably won't see it for a year or so.
On the other hand they did pull off a miracle release when the public was still speculating that the game was vaporware. This provides the hint that they are working on something and eventually it will happen.
Secrecy is a funny thing. It could mean that it's some sort of super-duper release that's so cool they have to keep it a secret. Or it could mean that they don't have a clue and are still trying to figure out exactly what the plan is.
Not much help am I? *grin* Currently in development Wizards and Champions (formerly ActionMMORPG) |

I think they have (or are close to) come to an agreement with a major publisher/developer and cannot talk much about DF2 atm. I also believe that the "hardcore" elements of the game will either be toned down or altogether removed, as part of this deal with the publisher/developer. |

Not really, I'm playing it as I type this. I'm continuing to skill up abilities knowing full well all or some of it could be removed or undone. I'm looking forward to the change. Also knowing AV I probably have 1-2 yrs before the new system is in place. |
