Just curious if anyone is currently playing the free weekend?  I did not get it downloaded/patched in time, so I am going to miss it.

I am just curious how many people are actually playing this weekend and what kind of phat loot/battles are comming out of this weekend?

Lots of seiges?  Lots of boat battles?  Anyone have any information?

Didnt get it in time? its all weekend and monday i think. you got time.

Yesterday around prime time there was a person at almost every spawn I came across in dwarf lands . .. just now the server went down and there was people all over the bank I was at and in chat. The dungeon I was in had others in it. I ran into PVP all day and had a great time! I was expecting to see people mostly out for roaming PVP but most people I've come across has been grinding somewhere it seems like so thats a good sign that many are planning on staying. I will be going back online to find some more PVP (note the time that I posted this).

Yes, I am playing this weekend (EU). It's kind of ehm... lonely out here in Morak. This could be that real open world multiplayer RPG but I bet people are still playing it as a fantasy Counter Strike. Well, I love every bit of immersive gloom in this game, so for the time being I am enjoying myself.

I am playing on NA1.  I have seen a few people... not too many.

I quit way back, it is not as frustrating as earlier... but of course that frustration was half the fun... getting attacked by others almost everywhere you go.  Needing to go in groups to survive... but still fun... would be much better if more active players were on... but still fun.

I am not only pvp viable, i can now stomp on veterans who played the game for 2 years!

Sorry for those who missed this weekend. After 1 cast of the spell name comehilther for example, i got it at level 40 starting at 1 right away. After few other cast, i got it to 75. I could max out my character offensive skills over 75 in a day after few hours, not all day.

If you still dont know yet, any skill in darkfall at lvl 75 is good as a skill at level 99 so the grind ends at 75 basically.

 Minus  the surging effect at lvl 100, which after these weekend will play a big role because like anyone has now min 10 surging skills/spells. Anyone will need em from now on also presurged before a fight ;)

My personal summary differs, these WE has shown how a MMORPG will die after instant gratification (which it was practically) and dependancy on insane mob drop loot.

DF is the 1st game doing it and its nothing like other mmorpg's. If wow had instant gratification (and i tried a wow instant server) btw, there would be absulutely nothing to do since the end game of wow is not even pvp only unlike DF that is a conquest type of game.

Beside, farming is not even over in DF. I still need to farm for gold and rare to sell just to make bunch of gear bags ready to lose and ready to get replaced. In wow, once you got your gears, you will never change or replace them. You will only repair them.

So you do not need to generalize since DF is like no other.

Most people that played this weekend and had a few thousand of each reg maxed out their characters magic skills. It wasn't extremely fun to fight because the surging was so easy. I don't think presurges will be that big of a deal as people think after this weekend because it's extremely annoying to surge a few spells let alone 10+. You just won't see as many videos of people with every single ray/r90/r50 surging presurging on people with 300 hp as much. Which is a good thing.

Went back in, didn't see many people around the usual places. Uninstalled.

I thought that the Skill gain was not for magic.

I tried an elf. . very dead. . I played human and there were a few more people around the starting area.  I was hoping to see more. . the population seemed about where I left it when I stopped playing after last summer. . but this was with a free week-end.

I know a lot are waiting to hear what will happen with 2.0 etc.

Lame, missed it.. would have been nice if DF e-mailed me, and would have helped others notice it as well.
