I'm totally surprised how many people Still hate this game with out any real experince.

Anyone who hasn't played since the first year has nothing to say.

Anyone who hasn't played with a clan that has holdings has nothing to say.

Anyone who still rages from losing anything less then plate and R60's (in cost) has nothing to say.

Play they game with a clan and actually put some time into it. DO NOT PLAY BY YOURSELF it's an MMO..

Play the free weekend.

4x gains and crazy more loot.

Perfect conditons for anyone who's just starting out.

DO NOT PASS THIS UP!

Played this game for a few months because I love PVP and full loot. However, the massive exploitation and botting by the community completely ruined it for me. This game is going to die just like the rest of the poorly developed sandboxes =/ Pity, could have been a great game.

4x gains and crazy more loot means nothing to anyone who doesnt play the game, they want a good balanced game not 'loot'

rpg/mmorg history: Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW (9200 hrs on main [mage])> oblivion > LOTR (480 Hunter) > Rift (130 hours mage) > Guild Wars (900hrs elementalist) Vanguard.

Now playing Eve/Skyrim/GW1.

Waiting for GW2/Archeage.

Well I for one am pretty excited. I had my weekend set aside for Skyrim lol (so addicted) but that can always wait . .. I am hoping that it will be populated enough that I can solo PVP and have a lot of success. Please oh please play this game scrubs! : P

NEWS FLASH! A bank was robbed the other day and a man opened fire on the customers being held hostage. One customer zig-zag sprinted until he found cover. When questioned later he explained that he was a hardcore Darkfall Online player and knew just what to do.

You don't have to be a hater to realize that DFO has serious flaws - flaws that a PR stunt like the one this weekend won't remedy.

What does it matter to me if I can powerlevel some skills and get "crazy" loot for 48 hours, when the game itself is void of meaningfull things to do, when solo vets still will roflstomp groups of newbies, and when the server is a ghost town because there probably will be a wipe sometime in the future?

As for "don't judge the game until you've done X or Y" is just moot. You should be able to enjoy a game from day one no matter what you do. If a company fails at providing fun experiences for new players and vets alike, it's the devs' fault, not the players'.

I played and really enjoyed this game. I don't understand the hate that people have for it.

I quit because I couldn't find fun things to do in game. I don't even really fault the game for that. It seemed like if I wanted to explore dungeons or whatever I couldn't get people to go, raiding farms and stuff to stir up some action became 20-30 vs 3 and not fair fights and the rest of the time was spent grinding skills, stats or gathering materials. I don't enjoy unfair fights even if I win.

If they ever made a Darkfall that was max stats, All skills and added some very hard dungeons or progressive type bosses I'd be right back in line. Plus cheap boats so every clan could throw them away like trash.

I think Guild Wars ruined me. I saw how useless the stat/skill grind was and that with everyone even PvP was much more enjoyable. GW had it's own problems, and I consider it a lesser game than Darkfall, but that one aspect was superior.

I don't hate on it, I just realize it's problems, and I disliked it when I played the free trial.  No one killed me, and if they would have, it wouldn't of been a big deal.

Hope the game keeps going, and you keep having fun, but not everyone that dislikes the game has an agenda to ruin your game.

Heroes are about character - not gear.

This needs to be stickied at the top of almost every thread... to be honest.

I do not want to play a Fantasy FPS - I dislike the game.  I like to play MMORPGs.

This does not mean I want DFO to go away.  I want the people that want a Fantasy FPS to have their game - so they can play it - so they are not trying to change the games I like to play.

I miss the MMORPG genre. Will a developer ever make one again?

Relax OP.

Anyone who is following DF in this forum will be back to try DF 2.0.  Most of the true haters are in the actual DF forum.

Originally played when the game first came out... I had a lot of fun during that time... even through the griefing and nonstop PvP... which is probably what made it so fun.

I quit because I got very busy... and the fact my subscription did not renew because of glitch and the at the time corrupted GMs that played on the opposing alliance.

Came back, the game is still fun, but no where near as fun as when it first came out.  The main issue is the lack of players... with a larger player base the game would be great... I figure I will give it a bit, if the game does not increase in pop. oh well, star wars comes out next month... and I will probably play that 1 or 2 months until I decide, I hate WoW... and all the different copies of it.

This is the issue with the game atm. Until AV fixes the need to use 3rd party programs for combat and having to skill up every damn spell in the game to compete I won't touch DFO.

I'm starting to think that will never happen. There are to many mechanical flaws with the game that prevent it from becoming a good game.  With all the good games coming out I don't think DF is going to last very long.

I think Darkfall fulfulls a need in the mmo community, dispite its flaws and what is said about it by angry fanbois who hate the game, it has so far survived 3 going on 4 major WOW clone pulblishers and has a paid subscriber number last time I checked, which is something LOTR, AOC, WAR, and D@D online dont have anymore so.............

Griefing is one of the most fun parts of mmorpgs, even being griefed to me a part of the fun, hell being hunted down by an angry mob is sometimes just as fun as beating someone to death.. especially if you somehow prevail.

Hmm?  There's still lots of subscribers to LotRO and D&D Online... not sure about AoC and WAR, but I'm under the impression they have subscribers too.

It very well might be even more than Darkfall, even with the freemium thing going.  I don't actuall yknow the specific subscriber numbers, but they do have subscribers. :)

Maybe Darkfall should consider going freemium!

Both WAR and AoC have subscribers.  For AoC, you can do most of the early game and very little of the end game as a free player.  For WAR, I thought free accounts were capped to Level 10 or so (?)

From day one players exploited macro afk and hacked living daylights out of Darkfall, so its not only DEVS to blame also players.

But Devs should have dealed with this and they didn't they even let the biggest cheaters the Mercs promote Darkfall with there videos.

They should have BETA the game for 6 months then one month of real stress testing it would have helped the game alot more then to early released it without almost zero beta testing.

Ive beta test game for 5weeks reported several bugs and most where still ingame when game was launched. I still played for 2 years but quit eventually becouse gameworld on EU-1 was empty for most time.

But haters of game where already long before game was launched this game was always intended for nich market but even most hardcore where losers and started cheating thats what have killed this game.

Plus almost no PVE and Huge grind  and to much focussed on mega zerg game was dead before it even started.

Waiting for Guildwars 2 - played:AC-Darktide,AC2-Darktide,L2 and Darkfall.Solo Fav games:Morrowind, Skyrim, Bioshock, Age of Empires 2, Soldiers of fortune 2 and many more...

i just don't like that (from what i have heard mind you) a "vet" (near max level character) can wipe the floor with 7-8 newer players.

for a "skill" based game that shouldn't happen, maybe in a typical MMORPG i could see that but in a game like DF no.
