I'm playing and having fun with my friend. I haven't had any problem meeting people to play with, if I want to. That's really all you can expect from a game, in the end. It's the best game currently released, in my opinion. It doesn't bore me to tears like the games that have basically the same mechanics that aren't bad in themselves, but that I've already played and masterd for years. Darkfall is challenging. But you also have to have imagination and go find stuff that's fun for you to do. Most games pretty much direct you on a course. I hate that. That's why I and my friend like Darkfall.

I play at off times since I live in Asia. That works out well for me building a character. Mornings for me are peak times in NA. Other times the server is quiet. I see a lot of people on in the newbie starter areas on weekends. I recognize players who are leveling their skills at about the same pace as I am. It is easy to feel a sense of community, to trade, to talk, to quest together because we recognize each other.

I've gotten ganked a couple of times. On balance, I've gained way more pixels than I've lost. One guy ganked me and took my spell reagents. He messaged me and came back with some helpful weapons and armor, some chest keys, and showed me the spot where the chest is. Another guy gave me a mount and some armor. People get scared by ffa pvp and full loot, but that is just conditioning from other games that makes people freak out about losing virtual items that are easily replaceable. If people can't let go of that programmed way of thinking, they don't need to play this game. Yes, there are d-bags, but from my experience, they are a minority. Just talk to people! It makes the game much more enjoyable.

AV does have problems. I'm not satisfied with their communication. I would like to know the ETA for DF 2.0. I would like to know what's going on with the wipe rumors. They don't say anything at all now. This sucks. But I think they were brave and brilliant to create this game and get it out in a functioning state. They suck at maintaining it, adding new content, and communicating. It seems like a hobby project for their company rather than a primary source of income. But it's really a brilliant game if you like a challenge and an open world. If you want to talk fail sandbox though, you have to think about Mortal Online, Earthrise, Xsyon, etc. Darkfall is as polished as this genre gets (excluding EVE).

DF is the best game on the market for players like me. So, I'm gonna go play now. Bye.

I agree with BLUD..

I currently play darkfall and have great fun everytime i play..

Yes AV have always had issues keeping to any kind of ETA.

Will there be a wipe ? Who knows even if there is its not gonig to stop be playing Darkfall now because you know what I am having a great time.. the moment the fun stops is the moment i quit..

So to the OP if your not having fun anymore just move on..

Sometimes it esems as the people actually playing the game is not on the forum, they play instead. And everyone on a forum are those who dont play the game, they are at the forum instead.

Im only here when i dont have a MMO to play!

This time i agree with all criticism and with OP here and on original Forums.

AV don't handles the wipe issue with the appropiate integrity.  A wipe is a cardinal sin in a MMORPG at least it is a matter   you handle very very very carefully since its one of the main points of MMO's to pay a company who stores your data and has to take care of them so nothing is lost and someones progression is saved.

Never the less wipes do happen even to MMORPGs. They can't retain data forever and sometimes you really need to freshen up a server. They may not have handled it well but the drama is way over the top in many cases.

To my best knowledge wipes usually  just DON'T happen to MMORPG's and happen on extremely rare occasions. They mostly a matter of when MMORPG's are in beta stage and NOT when paying customers become access to the live product.

Don't know of any better reason for drama in a MMORPG then when your avatar gets deleted or his progression gets voided.

MMORPG's  right to exist is in that basic feature of avatar and his progression.

Agreed, only game I know of that routinely wipes live servers is A Tale in the Desert which is part of their business model.

The forums actually look a lot better than they used to . .. for example, when people ask now adays if they should try the game most people say yes when in the past most people said that it was a total waste of time. Even back when there was only one server there was a hell of a lot of trolls and hate in the forums that took up the majority.

Am I the only one who thinks it looks much better now than it used to?

NEWS FLASH! A bank was robbed the other day and a man opened fire on the customers being held hostage. One customer zig-zag sprinted until he found cover. When questioned later he explained that he was a hardcore Darkfall Online player and knew just what to do.
